Worst Team of the Season – Premier League 2015-2016

We all know who the best team was this season. Yes Leicester City. This is why need to take time out to remind ourselves how awful Aston Villa and Newcastle have been. Let us not forget how badly Chelsea underachieved.  We had to include Arsenal for a number of reasons which will be explained below.

1. Aston Villa

How can a team be so crap and boring. Doesn’t help that you start the season with Remi Garde (we won’t speak about Tim Sherwood). Should’ve stayed put at Lyon mate. Doesn’t help when you’ve sold all your best players to. Being stuck with players who have no passion and past their best. Let’s name a few these players; Bradley Guzan, Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott, Kieran Richardson, Alan Hutton, Chalres N’Zogbia and Agbonlahor. They could’ve been like Derby County in 2007–08 who only achieved 11 points. The whole season has been a demonstration of how to destroy a club in one season. It’s a shame as Villa fans bring a lot to the Premier League.

2. Newcastle United

Worst of the Season - Premier League 2015-2016
Why are Newcastle here? Newcastle United is like a yoyo. Up and down every season. They have great fans and half decent players, who shouldn’t be in this position. Yet they manage to get themselves in this position every other season. If we’re honest, Steve McClaren has never been any good since leaving Middlesborugh in 2006. It’s time he retired. No point doing the managerial circuit, might as well be a forgotten manager sooner, rather than later. Harsh but true. Maybe Rafa is their man. As for the players, where do you start? Andros Townsend and Jonjo Shelvey have been average at best. That’s really where the compliments stop. Coloccini can not say anything after his Sideshow Bob-esq performance this season. All the over gaff mate! You can’t even name a consistent Newcastle team. Never a good sign when can’t easily pen down your first 11.

3. Chelsea

Look at this photo! Between them they couldn’t even rustle up a top 6 finish. God knows what happened to Hazard and it’s pretty much over for Terry. Terry, one of the last remaining players from Chelsea’s golden era. He’s done his club proud and it’s time to move on now. The only thing they’ll be playing for next year is the Premier League and FA Cup. Let’s not forget, one the worst ground to visit, unless you happen to be a massive fan of prawn cocktail. Can’t forget the desperate signing of Alexandre Pato. Washed up players are washed up for a reason. Another player who has flopped is Pedro. The Premier League really isn’t his cuppa tea. Let us not forget Fabregas. As good as Fabregas is, does he even care any more? Won it all besides the Champions League.

4. Arsenal

Arsenal v Norwich City - Barclays Premier League - Emirates Stadium
Alright! Alright, calm down. I know Arsenal fans are already crying. Precisely why you’re on this list. Since Patrick Vieira left no one has been scared of Arsenal. Being bullied by Drogba and Essien has left Arsenal’s reputation in tatters. The reason they’re on the list is because they lack confidence, passion, fight and sense of risk. How boring is Theo Walcott and let’s not start on his pal Danny Welbeck. Your more likely to get an atmosphere down your local Mecca Bingo in North London!
