Preview: Wales vs. Serbia – Betting Odds, Team News, Tips & Predictions

wales
Wales welcome Group D leaders Serbia to the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday night, with a bumper crowd expected following the hosts’ success in Euro 2016. The attendance is expected to far exceed that which will be present for Wales’ rugby international against Argentina at the Principality Stadium earlier in the day.

Chris Coleman’s side will want to show that their disappointing 1-1 draw with Georgia was an anomaly. A win over a Serbian side, equipped with six Premier League players would see them leapfrog their opponents into top place in the group.

Team News

Aaron Ramsey returns to the squad, having missed the last three games with injury. However, Ben Davies is expected to miss the game through injury, with Bristol City’s Adam Matthews, on loan from Sunderland, replacing him in the squad.

Serbia have named three uncapped players in their squad, but there’s plenty of experience in their ranks. Aleksandar Kolarov, Branislav Ivanovic, Nemanja Matic and Dusan Tadic are all available for the visitors.

Stats

  • Wales have won just one of their last four home matches.
  • Serbia haven’t lost in seven matches. Their most recent defeat came in a 1-0 loss to Poland in March.
