Premier League 2017/18 Goal of the Season

Iconsport

Manchester City set a new record for the highest number of goals scored in a Premier League season, while there were plenty of crackers scored by other teams over the course of the season.

But what was Goal of the Season? Here are the contenders.

Wayne Rooney (Everton vs. West Ham, 29th November)

A shocking clearance from Joe Hart allowed Rooney to complete his hat-trick and score his second career goal against West Ham from inside his own half.

Sofiane Boufal (Southampton vs. West Brom, 21st October)

A wonderful run from Boufal saw him score this goal early on in the season for Saints. Unfortunately, he’s incredibly inconsistent, which means we don’t often see this level of quality from him.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool vs. Bournemouth, 14th April)

Salah broke the record for most goals scored in a 38-game season this year and there were some great goals in his 32, but his header against Bournemouth was sublime.

Jamie Vardy (West Brom vs. Leicester, 10th March)

Riyad Mahrez dropped a long ball deep onto Vardy’s left foot, with the England striker firing the ball on the volley into the bottom-left hand corner.

Pedro Obiang (Tottenham vs. West Ham, 4th January)

Pedro Obiang fired West Ham into the lead with this thunderbolt into the top left-hand corner. Amazingly, this game only saw two goals, but both were fantastic!
