England v Denmark Preview

Is football coming home? We’re going to know for sure very shortly, but before the Euro 2020 final on July 11th, Gareth Southgate’s men will need to get past Europe’s favourite team, Denmark.

The Danes are backed by every nation not called England, and it would be a truly remarkable story if they could make it to the final given what happened in their opening game.

Ryan Delaney will be a key player as the visitors look to break the England guard for the first time in this tournament, but it will be a massive ask to do what the Czech Republic, Croatia, Scotland, Germany, Ukraine couldn’t and get a goal.

For the English, this is their second consecutive major tournament semi-final, and they’ll be looking to go one step further than they ever have at this level.

With a massive crowd backing them at the home of English football, all eyes are on this side, let’s see if they can do what so many before them have failed to over the years.

England v Denmark Betting Odds

The oddsmakers have named England as favourites, and are offering pretty good odds on the Danes, especially considering how good they have looked since their harrowing opening day experience.

Remember that this is a knockout game, so if it goes to extra-time and/or penalties and the team you have backed to win goes through, you have still lost the bet. You must bet on the ‘to qualify’ market to back a team to go through via any method.

Denmark are pretty heavy underdogs at 9/2 to win and 23/10 to qualify, while England are strong enough favourites at 5/7 to get it done within the 90 and 1/3 to go through at all. A draw is priced at 13/5.

England v Denmark Betting Tips

Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Denmark to qualify23/10

The bookies appear to have taken out of the equation the fact that this is England at a major tournament, and are offering massive odds on Denmark getting through to the final. The Danes have been to the summit of European football before, and could again with a particularly strong performance at Wembley. This is a huge price for Denmark to go through any way at all, but we like the 90 minutes one as well!

England win to zero27/20

However, we still expect to see England go through, and if they do it it’s very likely that they get another clean sheet. Blame Jordan Pickford and Harry Maguire if this one doesn’t come through, not us!

Harry Kane to score anytime7/5

He’s gone from zero goals to three pretty quickly, and knowing Harry Kane, he’s now eyeing up Cristiano Ronaldo in that golden boot spot. To do that, he’ll need a couple of goals spread between this one and the final, which now is seeming very possible since he found his mojo again.
