Italy v Spain Preview

It’s undoubtedly the most exciting match of the Euro 2020 semi-final matchups, and Italy v Spain promises to be one of the best matches of the tournament.

Spain have never looked particularly impressive in this tournament, but they have answered all of the necessary questions to make it to the final four of the competition, and now face their toughest test yet in the serially unbeaten Italy.

No team in the last 32 that have attempted it have been able to find a way past Roberto Mancini’s side, and Spain will need to find that next gear if they plan on making their way back to Wembley for the final on July 11th.

Italy v Spain Betting Odds

The oddsmakers have named Spain as slight favourites to make it to the final, while Italy are seen as underdogs, although the prices are virtually identical.

Remember that this is a knockout game, so if it goes to extra-time and/or penalties and the team you have backed to win goes through, you have still lost the bet. You must bet on the ‘to qualify’ market to back a team to go through via any method.

Spain are particularly slight favourites at 19/10 to win and evens to qualify within the 90 minutes, with the draw a 43/20 shot and Italy coming in as very minimal underdogs with a price of 31/20 and 4/5 to go through.

Italy v Spain Betting Tips

Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Draw43/20

This is an interesting game, and it’s very, very difficult to pick a winner within the 90 minutes. Both sides have been pushed all the way by weaker teams than the other in this tournament, so we are going for this one to head to, at least, extra time.

Spain to win from behind12/1

This one is a bit of a long shot, but it would make you serious money if it came through. These games have been so manic during this tournament, anything is possible. Italy are so good defensively that it’s highly unlikely they would allow Spain back into the game if they did manage to score early, but we have seen a real ability to grasp victory from the jaws of defeat in this tournament from the Spanish so it might be worth a look.

Own Goal6/1

We love the price on this one, even if it is a big outside bet. Spain’s top scorer at this tournament is ‘own goal’, with the Spanish having seen three goals scored by players on the opposite side, for them. This is a big price, but we actually fancy it.
