The league seasons of the top teams in Europe have had some bizarre starts, and there will be some scintillating action across the continent.
In La Liga, Barcelona aren’t in action as we see action taking place over three days across the Spanish top tier. Levante play Vallecano while Athletic Club face Mallorca in two interesting matches on Saturday night. Sunday is when all of the action goes down, with Espanyol hosting Atletico Madrid before Osasuna play Valencia, Cadiz play Real Sociedad and Real Madrid play host to Celta de Vigo at the Bernabeu. Then on Monday it’s over to Getafe v Elche before we finish up the week with Granada v Real Betis.
Over in Ligue 1, We’ll see Lionel Messi’s home debut against Clermont on Saturday afternoon, after the week’s action kicks off on Friday night with Lorient v Lille. That Friday game is the most exciting of the weekend, but most of the football in the French top tier takes place on Sunday afternoon. Highlights include Nantes v Nice and Lyon v Strasbourg.
In Germany, there are just two days of football, with six matches taking place on Saturday and three on Sunday. Leverkusen v Dortmund on Saturday afternoon is a cracking game, but all eyes will be on the evening clash between Red Bull Leipzig and Bayern Munich. On Sunday the main talking point is likely going to be Monchengladbach against Bielefeld.
It’s also a big weekend in Serie A, with action happening from Saturday afternoon to Monday evening across ten matches. The pick of the games is likely Sampdoria v Inter Milan on Sunday morning, as well as the AC Milan and Lazio match at the San Siro later in the day. It all finished up on Monday with Bologna v Verona in what is another pick ‘em matchup.

It has been a bizarre season so far in France, and even though Lille managed to finally win right before the break, they’re going find a really tough test in Lorient. Their results thus far have been virtually identical, and we reckon this will be a close game.

The value in this game is fantastic, and we like the favourites in this one. The draw is priced at 12/5, which is also worth a look, while the Lazio win is 21/10 and we wouldn’t begrudge you picking any one of them.
Espanyol v Atletico Madrid – Atletico Madrid win – evens
Atletico Madrid will be favoured to win this one, and despite the impressive showings we’ve seen this season from Espanyol, we reckon that Atleti should get the job done. This price is definitely worth a look for your trebles or accas this weekend.
RB Leipzig v Bayern Munich – Bayern Munich win – 5/4
This is arguably the most exciting game of the weekend, and the odds appear to reflect that. Bayern will probably win, and with a price of 5/4, they could really make your profits soar heading into the new week.
