This weekend could play a huge part in deciding the Bundesliga title race, as Dortmund and Bayern go head to head at Signal Iduna Park. With just a point separating the two German giants at the top of the league, the slight advantage afforded by a win could be crucial come the end of the campaign. The race to fill the top four is also getting exciting. Leverkusen and Freiburg are currently occupying 3rd and 4th place, but Hoffenheim, Union Berlin, Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig are all in the hunt for Champions League football.

The gap between the top four and rest of the league in Italy is far greater, with 4th place Atalanta already six points clear. However, there is still a long way to go, and the likes of Roma, Fiorentina, Juventus and Lazio will all be confident in climbing the table. There are some exciting match-ups taking place at the top of the table this weekend, as Roma host Inter and Atalanta travel to Napoli. Gaps have started to appear, but things could be far tighter come the end of the weekend.

The battle to avoid relegation in Ligue 1 is much closer than the race for the league title. Just a single point separates the bottom five, who know every result is crucial in their fight to stay in France’s top flight. At the opposite end of the standings, PSG have extended their lead to 12 points over next best Rennes, after winning four consecutive league games. Things are looking bleak for champions Lille, who have now failed to win in their last seven games. Retaining their title is all but impossible, but a spot within the top three could still be within reach.

Over in Spain, Atletico Madrid have emerged as the strongest contenders to challenge their neighbours for the title. Real Madrid came from behind to beat Sevilla late on, whilst Atletico hammered Cadiz. Real Sociedad’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Espanyol means they are now four points off the league leaders, who also have a game in hand.

This Week’s European Football Betting Tips

*Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Lille vs Troyes: Lille win – 20/49

Jonathan David has been the shining light in Lille’s poor start to the campaign. With 10 goals in 15 games, this could prove to be a breakout season for the Canadian, who will almost certainly be looking for a big move come the end of the season. There is plenty of goals in this Lille attack and they should be too good for Troyes.

Dortmund vs Bayern Munich: Draw – 3/1

Bayern have taken their foot off the gas in recent weeks, losing to Augsburg and narrowly beating Bielefeld. It is not the free-scoring form that they would have liked to be in ahead of this massive game. The return of Erling Haaland is a huge boost to Dortmund’s title hopes, and the Norwegian was back amongst the goals within eight minutes of his return. This promises to be an exciting tie, and a draw looks likely given how evenly matched the two sides are.

Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid: Real Madrid win – 23/20

Defeat in this game could put a dent in Sociedad’s chances of keeping up with Madrid in the title race. The home side have won just once in their last five in all competitions, whilst Real are on a run of six consecutive wins. Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior are in fine form, and we don’t think Sociedad will be able to keep up with their dynamic attack.

Napoli vs Atalanta: Napoli win – 21/20

If Napoli win their game in hand over Sassuolo, the gap between these two could be seven points going into this tie. A defeat could rule out Atalanta’s outside chance of challenging for the title, and we think that’s exactly what will happen. Napoli are full of confidence after a 4-0 thrashing of Lazio, and Ciro Immobile is in excellent form.
