Things didn’t quite go to plan for PSG on their return to league football, as Mauricio Pochettino’s were held to a 1-1 draw by an industrious Lyon side. The French giants have now drawn four of their last five league games, and although they are in no danger of slipping out of top spot, they will want to be building some momentum ahead of the Champions League knockout stages.

Bayern Munich are another side that struggled on their return to domestic football, with the German powerhouse suffering a surprise 2-1 defeat at home against Monchengladbach. A win for their main rivals Dortmund has seen the gap at the summit of the Bundesliga close to just six points, with the two set to meet towards the end of the campaign.

With league leaders Real Madrid turning their attention to Spanish cups this week, the door may have been left slightly ajar for Sevilla in La Liga. Should the second place side win their game in hand, they could close the gap to two points on Carlo Ancelotti’s side, with the front-runners still scheduled to meet.

Serie A could look very different at the top of the table next week. With AC Milan at home to Spezia and Inter travelling to face Atalanta, Simone Inzaghi could see his side leapfrogged by Stefano Piolo this weekend.

This Week’s European Football Betting Tips

*Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Stuttgart vs RB Leipzig: RB Leipzig win – 10/17

Leipzig kicked off the year with a dominant 4-1 victory over Mainz, with top scorers Christopher Nkunku and Andre Silva both finding the net. The visitors were 4-0 winners when these two met earlier in the season, and have won the last five league meetings against Stuttgart.

St. Etienne vs Lens: Lens win – 11/10

St. Etienne have lost five straight league games, failing to score in four of those whilst conceding 13. Although Lens are struggling for form, they shouldn’t have too many problems against a side destined for the drop.

Elche vs Villarreal: Villarreal win – 4/5

No team has picked up more points than Villarreal in the last five games as they have climbed the table. Gerard Moreno has six goals in his last four league games, and the Spaniard will fancy his chances of netting a few more this Sunday.

Atalanta vs Inter Milan: Inter Milan win – 5/4

Bergamo is never an easy trip, but Inter have proven time and time again that they are up for the challenge against the big sides. They have won eight consecutive league games, and Lautaro Martinez is on fire this season. This should be an exciting clash, and the visitors will need to win to keep the pressure on their Milan rivals.
