Tottenham vs Arsenal Football Preview

Tim Sherwood and Arsene Wenger were the managers in charge when Arsenal last won a league match away at Spurs. Tomas Rosicky was the man that scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory for the Gunners back in 2014.

Although Tottenham had a rocky start to the campaign, the arrival of Antonio Conte seems to have settled things down. Spurs are sitting just outside the top four with two games in hand, and a win this weekend could see them climb above their rivals.

Mikel Arteta has rightfully received many plaudits for the way he has got Arsenal’s youngsters playing, but the Gunners have failed to make their mark in the big games. Their only win against the traditional big six this season came in the reverse fixture against Spurs, with defeats coming against: Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Liverpool.

Conte has made the new stadium somewhat of a fortress, and he is yet to lose a league game at home since arriving, meaning only City have picked up more points at home this season. They will be defensively compact, as we’ve come to expect from Conte teams, and they have players that can hurt you on the break.

Our NetBet win probability counter thinks it’s a very difficult game to call, and gives the home side a slight edge at 38% chance of winning. The visitors are given a 33% chance of victory, with a draw nearly as likely a 29%.

Tottenham vs Arsenal Football Odds

Spurs are very slight favourites for the North London derby and are priced by the bookies at 7/5. Despite their win in the reverse fixture, Arsenal are underdogs at 17/10, with a draw priced at 11/5.

Tottenham vs Arsenal Betting Tips

*Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Spurs Win and Both to Score – 15/4

Both teams have found the net in five of the last six meetings between these two, and we don’t think things will be any different this weekend. Arsenal have an abundance of dynamic talent, whilst Spurs have one of the world’s best goalscorers over the past decade. We think the home side will just have the edge on the day.

Over 3.5 Goals – 41/20

The best thing about a North London derby is that from time to time, it throws us an absolute cracker of a game. Both teams will be at it from the first whistle, and neither team will be wanting anything less than all three points.

Create-a-bet Special – Tottenham win, Over 1.5 goals, Harry Kane first goalscorer, Over 8 corners – 13/1

Not a bad little pick if you fancy an outside bet. Harry Kane hasn’t had the best season thus far, but will be the best finisher on the pitch. We’re expecting an end to end affair with plenty of attacking action, so why not give this a go, or create your own at NetBet.
