Bayern re-established their nine point lead at the summit of German football last weekend, as their greatest rivals Dortmund were hammered 5-2 on home soil by Leverkusen. It was a third consecutive victory for Leverkusen, who are now chasing down Marco Rose’s side with hopes of achieving their highest league finish in over a decade.

Real Betis are another team on the verge of making history, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side looking to achieve a top five finish in La Liga for the first time since 2005. However, Xavi’s new look Barcelona are hot on their tails after putting four past Atletico Madrid in a feisty affair at the Camp Nou.

Speaking of feisty affairs, it was AC who came out victorious in the Milan Derby at the San Siro last weekend. The win moved Stefano Pioli’s side to within a point of their rivals, with an exhilarating end to the Serie A campaign on the horizon.

Things are less exciting over in France, where a 5-1 drubbing of Champions Lille reaffirmed PSG’s position 13 points clear at the top of Ligue 1. The battle at the bottom of the table is far close, with only three points separating 16th place Troyes from St. Etienne in rock-bottom.

This Week’s European Football Betting Tips

*Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Villarreal vs Real Madrid: Real Madrid win – 33/20

These are good odds for a team that has looked unstoppable at times this season. Villarreal may have won four of their last five home games, but Madrid propose an entirely different challenge. Whilst Karim Benzema may miss out due to injury, Carlo Ancelotti isn’t short of attacking options.

Atalanta vs Juventus: Juventus win – 8/5

Juventus made major improvements to their side in the January window – new signing Dusan Vlahovic was on the scoresheet within 13 minutes of his debut against Verona last time out. The Serbian will lead the Old Lady’s line for years to come, and we expect him to kick on against this Atalanta side with just one win in six.

Metz vs Marseille: Marseille win – 4/6

A 5-2 win over Angers saw Marseille climb above Nice in the race for an automatic Champions League spot. Dimitri Payet has been pulling the strings all season and now Cedric Bakambu has been brought in to support Arkadiusz Milik. They shouldn’t have too much trouble against this 18th place Metz side, who have won just once in their last five, failing to score in three of those.

Leverkusen vs Stuttgart: Leverkusen win – 5/11

It’s difficult not to back Leverkusen after their thrashing of Dortmund last weekend. They have now scored five in consecutive games, with French winger Moussa Diaby netting four. They have an exciting attack, and if it isn’t ripped apart by bigger clubs in the ummer window, it will be interesting to see how far they can take Leverkusen.
