European Football Accumulator

One of the biggest games in world football is back this weekend as Real Madrid host Barcelona at the Bernabeu. Los Blancos have won the last four league meetings between these two and will go into El Clasico 15 points clear of their rivals. The hosts look to have La Liga wrapped up, but the visitors are in need of the points to secure Champions League football for next season.

There is another huge clash in the race for Europe over in Ligue 1. Marseille and Nice are tied on points and will battle it out for some breathing space in second place this weekend. Neither can afford to slip-up knowing that defeat would open the door for Rennes and Strasbourg to join the fight for Europe.

One of football’s fiercest rivalries will be reignited on Sunday as Roma and Lazio meet in the Derby della Capitale. There is a lot more than just bragging rights at stake at the Stadio Olimpico, with the two separated by a single point in fifth and sixth place. A defeat for either could signal the end of their top four hopes should Juventus pick up three points.

Just one point separates third place Leverkusen and sixth place Hoffenheim in Germany. All four clubs are looking to secure the title as Bundesliga’s best of the rest, and defeat could put any of them at risk of falling behind in the race for Champions League football.

This Week’s European Football Betting Tips

*Odds are correct at the time of publication and are subject to change.

Rayo Vallecano vs Atletico Madrid: Atletico Madrid win – 21/20

Atletico picked up their fourth consecutive win at Old Trafford in the week, whilst Vallecano made it nine league games without a win in their last outing. The visitors have won the last four meetings between these two without conceding a goal, and another victory this weekend could go a long way in securing them Champions League football for next season.

Lorient vs Strasbourg: Strasbourg win – 6/5

With second and third place facing off this weekend, a win for Strasbourg could place them firmly in the conversation for a spot among Europe’s elite next season. They have lost just once in their last 10 league games, and will be favourites going into this tie against a Lorient side that have won only one of their last 10 home games.

Roma vs Lazio: Draw – 7/5

Both of these sides are in decent form going into derby day and there is barely anything to split the two. Roma have lost just once in their last eight games, but Lazio came out on top when they faced off earlier this season. Both Tammy Abraham and Ciro Immobile are in fine form in front of goal, with one of the strikers likely to be the difference on the day.

FC Koln vs Dortmund: Dortmund win – 21/20

Dortmund have a real opportunity to apply some pressure to Bayern, with the champions seeming to stutter in recent weeks. Erling Haaland looks to be on his way back to full fitness for the most important part of the season, and the Norwegian will be crucial in any chance Dortmund have of wrestling the title away from their rivals. They face a tricky visit to Cologne this weekend, but they simply can’t afford to drop points.
