Brighton to beat Bournemouth – 20/27

Four wins in their opening six games has seen Brighton climb into the top four, and there’s nothing to suggest that stay will be short-lived. They have been one of the standout performers of the 2022/23 campaign, boasting one of the best defensive records in the league and playing some truly dazzling football. Graham Potter’s men make the trip along the south coast to face Bournemouth this weekend, in a game they are more than capable of winning comfortably.

The Cherries mounted an improbable 3-2 comeback against Nottingham Forest last time out, but that result was an anomaly. They are leaking goals at a worrying rate – 18 conceded in six games – and there are still doubts over their forwards’ ability to successfully adapt to the top-flight. We fancy it may be fleeting trip to the Premier League for Bournemouth, with defeat surely on the cards this weekend.

Manchester City to beat Tottenham and both teams to score – 7/5

Tottenham have started the season well, but they’re hardly blowing teams away. Antonio Conte is relying on his defence to get Spurs over the line. Whilst that may have worked against some of the teams they have faced thus far, Manchester City and Erling Haaland are an entirely different prospect. City have scored three or more goals in all but two of their games, so you’d think the visitors will need to score at least twice to get anything out of the game.

Pep Guardiola’s side have perhaps been more open this season than we are used to seeing, and that will play into Tottenham’s hands. However, they have also been absolutely ruthless in the final third and we’re not sure there is a team that can stop them finding the net.

West Ham to draw with Newcastle – 9/4

This game absolutely screams draw. West Ham have had a torrid start to the campaign, winning just once in their first six, whilst Newcastle have impressed on occasion but failed to get over the line. For all the positives at St. James’ Park, the Magpies have drawn four matches already, two of which have ended 0-0. One thing that Eddie Howe must be given credit for is his side’s defensive solidity – only three teams have conceded fewer.

West Ham have not looked anywhere near at the level they rose to last season, although they have started to improve in recent outings. They don’t look particularly menacing going forward, and given Newcastle’s compact defensive structure, this could easily end 0-0. It’s not exactly shaping up to be an all-time classic.
