West Ham vs Arsenal Preview

Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Anfield last weekend saw their lead at the summit reduced to six points. With City still to play and Pep Guardiola’s side having a game in hand, the Gunners simply cannot afford to drop points.

They travel to East London having won seven of their previous eight league games. Mike Arteta’s side boast the best away record in the league and have lost just twice on the road this campaign. Not only have they managed to maintain their scintillating standards without Gabriel Jesus, but now the Brazilian is back and firing on all cylinders.

West Ham have a lot to do if they are to stop the visitors but David Moyes’ side will take confidence from their 1-0 win away at Fulham. Despite losing 5-1 in their last home game against Newcastle, the Irons have performed far better on home soil in recent months. They have won four and drawn two of their last seven outings at the London Stadium.

It was a dominant 3-1 win for the Gunners when these two met earlier this season, and most will be backing another Arsenal win on Sunday. The return of Jesus has only elevated an already potent attacking force and could be key in spearheading Arsenal to that illusive title.

Premier League Betting Odds

Arsenal are huge 1.54 favourites on the road, with hosts West Ham 5.70 underdogs and a draw priced at 4.10. There is value in over 2.5 (1.80) and over 3.5 goals (3.00), with both teams to score (1.86) or either team to keep a clean sheet (1.89) similarly priced.

It is Gabriel Jesus leading the odds to open the scoring at 5.60, followed by teammates Gabriel Martinelli (6.30), Leandro Trossard (6.40) and Bukayo Saka (6.80). Danny Ings (9.20) is priced as West Ham’s best bet to break the deadlock, tailed by Michail Antonio (11.00) and Said Benrahma (12.00).

West Ham vs Arsenal Betting Tips

Arsenal win and both teams to score – 3.45

We think Arsenal will have enough to get the job done but it will no doubt be a tough tie. The Gunners have conceded in each of their previous four matches and have kept just one clean sheet in seven. On top of this, West Ham have found the net in seven straight home matches, including putting four past Nottingham Forest and AEK Larnaca.

Gabriel Jesus to score first – 5.60

Three goals in two starts since returning from injury have taken Jesus’ tally to eight in 18 league games. He is the focal point of this Arsenal attack and could well be amongst the goals once again this weekend.
