Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois Preview

It’s a highly anticipated fight with Dubois looking to pick up a major win in his career. But Usyk will be his toughest opponent yet. The 36-year-old has won titles in Russia, America, England, and Germany, and is unbeaten in 20 fights. He is fast becoming a great in his class.

Usyk will be fighting as close to his home as he’s been in eight years. At 36 years old, he has a whole host of wisdom and experience to utilise. This showdown for the WBA heavyweight belt will also have his IBF and WBO titles on the line. He hasn’t fought since defeating Anthony Joshua via split decision, which he should have won convincingly.

However, ‘Dynamite’ Dubois has just one career loss, with 19 wins and a whopping 18 knockouts. After losing out to Joe Joyce back in 2020 he has knocked out Bogdan Dinu, Joe Cusumano, Trevor Bryan, and Kevin Lerena in a row. The 25-year-old will start this one as the underdog.

Some are calling it ‘The cat’ vs ‘Dynamite’, just giving a little intro as to how people can see this one going. It’s looking like a classic boxer vs big puncher matchup. Usyk is known for his skill and technical boxing ability and was undisputed cruiserweight champion for a number of years before taking the heavyweight division by storm. He can ‘outbox’ most people in front of him with skill and technical ability. Fast hands, fast feet and smart thinking has taken him right to the very top.

On the other hand, Dubois will be looking to make a statement . He’s a power hitter with something to prove. No one can debate his strength and punching ability. It’s whether he can technically get this fight right, not blowing out or falling into the way in which Usyk wants to fight. Just like the fight with AJ, Usyk will not be looking to slug it out. If it comes to that, Daniel will be happy to get into a punch off.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois Betting Tips

Oleksandr Usyk to win in rounds 4-6 @ 4.33

After Usyk comfortably outboxed the big hitter in Anthony Joshua, it could be a preview of what’s to come against Dubois. Dubois is a KO specialist and if he’s going to win, the most likely way will be a KO. However, of Usyk’s 20 fights, 13 victories have been inside the distance so it’s likely if there’s a winner, the fight will be stopped.

Daniel Dubois by KO, TKO or DQ @ 9.00

However, Usyk is getting on. Although he looks technically brilliant and defensively sound, Dubois will want to get inside and see if he can cause an upset. If it does go his way, the most likely way is certainly a knockout. There won’t be a decision to be made.
