Bayer Leverkusen to beat BK Hacken – 3/25 (1.12)

Xabi Alonso has made an incredible impact since his appointment as manager in October last year. Under his tenure the club have won 21 out of their 42 games, drawing 11 and losing 10. Though it took some time for things to settle down, Alonso’s men finished 6th last year and now sit 1st on goal difference after winning three and drawing one of their opening four games.

Meanwhile, BK Hacken are making their group stage debut in a European competition. With such a heavy imbalance, we’re predicting the German side to win comfortably.

AS Roma to beat Sheriff Tiraspol – 23/50 (1.46)

Roma didn’t start the season well, claiming just one point from their opening three fixtures. However, that run came to an end with a morale-boosting 7-0 demolition of Empoli at the weekend.

Sheriff Tiraspol may have won back-to-back titles, but there is a huge gulf in footballing quality between Italy and Moldova. Not only will Roma look to kick on from their first win at the weekend, but they’ll also have their ever-passionate crowd behind them. Taken together, we’re backing the Italians to claim victory in this encounter.

Villareal to beat Panathinaikos – 29/25 (2.16)

Villarreal have not started the season well – they’ve picked up just six points from their opening five matches, and currently sit 13th in La Liga. However they got back to winning ways at the weekend and have a good away record in the Europa League, winning five and drawing twice in their last seven games in the competition.

Although the Greek side sit top of their league after a 100% start, they haven’t won a home game in the Europa League group stage since 2012/13. With such a difference in European performance between the two sides, we can’t see that changing here.

Ajax to beat Olympique de Marseille – 71/50 (2.42)

Ajax may be seven points behind league leaders PSV, but they have won two out of their last three Europa League group stage fixtures at home.

By contrast, the French side have made a good start to their league campaign with nine points from five matches. However, their European away record is not as impressive – their last Europa League group stage victory came in 2015/16.

Rangers to beat Real Betis – 37/25 (2.48)

Rangers have won six and drawn one of their last eight Europa League fixtures, and their home dominance played a key role in their run to the final in 2021/22. However, Real Betis have an equally impressive away record in the Europa League, having won five and drawn one of their last seven games.

With little to split the two sides, home support could be key in deciding the outcome – Rangers have scored 16 goals at home in their last 8 Europa League matches, while Real Betis have scored 13 in 7 away games.
