NFL Week 6: Preview, Predictions, Picks & NFL Best Bets

Week 6: NFL Best Bets

Another NFL week is in the bag, but we’re already gearing up for the next one with our NFL best bets for Week 6.

Week 5 marked the unofficial beginning of the NFL season’s second quarter and we now have four weeks of team analysis under our belts when it comes to making the most accurate picks and predictions for the business end of the 2023 NFL schedule.

However, with each week, the slate is wiped clean and predictions become more challenging as teams adapt and grow or simply get worse.

The San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles remain the only undefeated teams in the NFL after convincing wins over the Cowboys and Rams last Sunday and dominate the odds when it comes to Super Bowl LVIII.

But there are plenty of others who will fancy their chances of claiming the Vince Lombardi trophy who will be in action this coming weekend – so here’s our NFL Week 6 preview as well the NFL best bets based on the latest NFL odds.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Cleveland Browns

The San Francisco 49ers, undefeated and Super Bowl favourites, head to FirstEnergy Stadium to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.

Cleveland, who have looked impressive this year and coming off a Week 5 bye, might be without their starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, due to a shoulder injury which won’t help their chances against a 49ers team who celebrated a convincing win over the Dallas Cowboys a week ago.

Both teams boast top-tier defences; Cleveland restricts opponents to under 200 yards per game, and while the 49ers have a slightly higher average, their defence remains robust.

This matchup could well witness a cautious start, intensifying as offenses find their groove, but San Francisco’s offensive edge, highlighted by Christian McCaffrey’s eight touchdowns in five games, is undeniable.

For the Browns, if Watson’s out, their offensive dynamics change. They struggled with rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and coach Kevin Stefanski hinted at third-string quarterback PJ Walker stepping in.

Regardless of the QB, maintaining ball possession against the interception-leading 49ers defence will be crucial.

Pick: San Francisco -7 @ 1.97

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Jets

The Philadelphia Eagles, looking to continue their unbeaten streak, face the New York Jets in Week 6 who continue to try and make the best of what’s been a disappointing year so far.

After defeating the Rams 23-14 and advancing to 5-0, the Eagles, perhaps still not at their peak, are one of the two undefeated teams and their form hints at their potential as Super Bowl contenders.

As for the Jets, they are now 2-3 following their 31-21 victory over Denver in Week 5, after their pre-season bubble was all but burst when Aaron Rodgers limped off just minutes into his debut.

While their defence and running game are noteworthy, quarterback Zach Wilson’s consistency is a concern, particularly with his five interceptions in as many games.

Despite the Jets’ potential to keep the match close, Philadelphia’s array of playmakers might be too overwhelming for New York to truly level the playing field.

It will take a Herculean effort to beat the Eagles unless they can force a bunch of mistakes by Philly’s offense and create three or four turnovers, so expect the Eagles to improve to 6-0.

It’s worth remembering, though, that these teams have two of the better defences in the league so don’t expect this one to be a slugfest.

Pick: Under 42 Points @ 1.77

Carolina Panthers vs. Miami Dolphins

At 0-5 the Panthers already look like they will be sending the no. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to the Chicago Bears, so the last thing they want right now is a trip to Miami to face the all-firing Dolphins.

However, it’s always worth remembering that, although they’re on the verge of 0-6, there’s always the unpredictability of the game and if anyone is hard to predict this season, it’s the Miami Dolphins.

One week they racked up one of the biggest total in NFL history when they put 70 points on the board against the Broncos, the next they are getting a pasting themselves at the hands of the Buffalo Bills.

Even so, the Dolphins boast one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL while their defence is adept at pressuring the quarterback and, despite the fact that they’ve experienced one loss this season, the Panthers don’t look like inflicting another.

Miami’s offence, led by stars like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, is unparalleled, then there’s the outstanding contributions of Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane, only adding to their potency.

Averaging 36.2 points and 514 yards weekly, the Dolphins are unmatched as an attacking force right now and it will take more than the Panthers can offer to stop them.

Pick: Miami Dolphins -14.5 points @ 2.06

NFL Week 6 Picks & NFL Best Bets

San Francisco 49ers -7 @ 1.97 vs Cleveland Browns

Eagles vs Jets: Under 42 Points @ 1.77

Miami Dolphins -14 points @ 1.95 vs Carolina Panthers
