Coventry vs Manchester United Preview

On paper, only a fool would back Coventry to overcome the once mighty Manchester United. But the magic of the FA Cup often upsets the odds and the Sky Blues, managed by former United striker Mark Robins, will give it everything they have to pull off a shock. The second-tier side go into the game on a poor run of league form themselves, with just one win in their last four outings, but are unlikely to be overawed by the challenge awaiting at Wembley.

United know a defeat will slam the door on their final hope of silverware this season and it would pile even more pressure on Ten Hag, who many believe could be shown the door in the summer. But the Dutchman, 54, can draw confidence from his side’s dramatic 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the quarter-finals.

Trailing 2-1 with just minutes to go, Antony netted an equaliser to send the tie into extra-time. Finding themselves behind once again in the added period, Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo struck in the final eight minutes to book a spot in the final four. The pulsating turnaround stunned United’s arch-rivals and left Ten Hag and Co breathing a huge sigh of relief.  While the former Ajax boss will not want to be left biting his nails once again, he will be only too aware his team must win at all costs.
