Rangers take on Tottenham in a Europa League Matchday 6 fixture that will no doubt be billed as a ‘Battle of Britain’, as former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou goes back to Scotland to face the Hoops’ bitter rivals.
In the Europa League – League Phase, Rangers are currently placed 8th, while Tottenham are 9th, though they are both locked on 10 points, making this game more important than national rivalry bragging rights, as it could determine who will be more likely to qualify for the Round of 16.
It could be argued that both teams are currently in the midst of disappointing seasons domestically, so progressing into the latter stages of European competition would provide a positive way to re-appraise their outlook on the campaign.

Rangers vs Tottenham Preview
Postecoglou’s Tottenham travel north to Scotland to play Rangers – the bitter rivals of Celtic, who Postecoglou was a successful manager of for two years. Now starting to come under pressure in his role as Spurs manager, it’s an interesting time for him to be confronting an old foe.
Within the Europa League context, these two teams have shown solid form that has put them in contention for the top eight qualifying spots – a performance level that has been missing domestically.
Although they’re likely to qualify for the Championship Round, Rangers’ chances of winning the Scottish Premiership look slim, as they try to chase down Celtic’s 11-point lead. They currently lie in 3rd, with Aberdeen acting as a buffer between the Glasgow rivals. The club’s Europa League form has been much more positive, with qualification directly into the Round of 16 in their own hands with three League Phase fixtures to play against Spurs, Manchester United and Union St. Gilloise.
Spurs, of course, are in a similar situation. Their domestic form has also been quite underwhelming thus far, making any successes in Europe come into sharper focus as it emerges as a likelier route to silverware. And, perhaps more importantly, the Champions League. There’s still a long way to go before any team can realistically think about that as an outcome, but Spurs are in a healthy position.
This is certainly true when you consider that Postecoglou has often heavily rotated his team for the Europa League fixtures, giving regular opportunities to teenage talents such as Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and Mikey Moore, using the early games to offer them important first-team exposure.
Should they get deeper into the competition, it will be interesting to see if the Spurs manager will be able to keep faith in his youngest players, as the season moves to its business end.

Rangers vs Tottenham Betting Tips
Bet Builder: Tottenham to Win, Over 1.5 Goals, Over 8.5 Corners @ 2.75
If you’re looking for suggestions for a Bet Builder, we’ve got a Spurs win, at least two goals and at least nine corners for you to build around.
Outcome and Both to Score – Draw & Yes @ 4.05
A combination of the atmosphere the home fans can generate and Spurs’ inconsistent form, especially away from home, means we wouldn’t be surprised if this ended all square.
Player to Score or Assist – Dejan Kulusevski @ 2.20
Whether playing out wide or centrally, Kulusevski has probably been Tottenham’s most consistent threat this season, so, should he play, we expect him to produce the goods again.
