Kansas City Chiefs to beat Houston Texans @ 1.20

The Chiefs and Texans met in Week 16, with Kansas City securing a 27-19 victory. Their last post-season encounter was in the 2019 Wild Card round, where the Chiefs staged a remarkable comeback from a 24-0 second-quarter deficit to beat Houston 51-31. Kansas City went on to win the Super Bowl that season.

Kansas City’s offence looks formidable heading into the playoffs. They acquired DeAndre Hopkins via trade, Marquise Brown has returned from injury, and Xavier Worthy has shown significant progress late in the season. Tight end Travis Kelce may also have been conserving his energy for when it truly counts, which could make him even more dangerous.

For Houston, offensive consistency has been a challenge since Stefon Diggs suffered a knee injury in Week 8. Their struggles were evident even in their victory over the Chargers, but the Texans’ tenacious pass rush ensures they always have a fighting chance.

Detroit Lions to beat Washington Commanders @ 1.18

The Lions and Commanders last met in Week 2 of the 2022 season, when Jared Goff threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns to guide Detroit to a 36-27 victory. Their most recent playoff encounter was on 8 January 2000, where Washington claimed the game 27-13.

Detroit enter the Divisional Round as clear favourites, thanks to their prolific offence. The Lions have been scoring freely, and there’s little reason to believe that won’t continue against Washington.

Philadelphia Eagles to beat Los Angeles Rams @ 1.36

The Eagles defeated the Rams 37-20 in their Week 12 matchup. Their last playoff meeting dates back to 27 January 2002, when the Rams—then based in St. Louis—narrowly beat the Eagles 29-24 in the NFC Championship Game, before losing to the Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVI.

Philadelphia are strong across the board. Defensive tackles Jalen Carter and Milton Williams generate pressure from the interior, linebacker Zack Baun excels at stopping both the run and the pass, and their secondary has the capability to stifle opposing offences. This all-round strength makes the Eagles a formidable opponent heading into this fixture.

Baltimore Ravens to beat Buffalo Bills @ 1.84

The Ravens and Bills met in Week 4, with Baltimore handing Buffalo a crushing 35-10 defeat. The two quarterbacks have faced each other only once in the Playoffs, with Allen leading the Bills to a 17-3 victory over the Ravens in the 2020 divisional round.

Josh Allen remains a dual-threat quarterback, capable of bulldozing through defences with his legs and delivering spectacular passes, such as his extraordinary touchdown throw to Ty Johnson in the Wild Card round. Baltimore could be without their top wide receiver, Zay Flowers, which would be a significant advantage for Buffalo.

The Ravens, however, are unafraid to lean on Lamar Jackson’s rushing ability. Jackson carried the ball 14 times in Baltimore’s win over the Steelers. Combined with running back Derrick Henry, the Ravens’ ground game poses a significant challenge for defences.
