Europa League Matchday 7 Betting Tips

The return of European football means the return of the Europa League for the final two matchdays of the new-look League Phase.

Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham are still battling to secure automatic qualification for the knockout rounds.

Only the Top 8 will book a spot in the last 16, with places 9th to 24th entering a play-off round.

With so much still left to sort out in the Europa League, you can bet there will be drama aplenty on Matchday 7.

So, NetBet has taken a look at the 18 fixtures set to take place this week and provided some football betting tips, all of which can be used in a handy accumulator bet.

Tottenham to beat Hoffenheim @ 2.17

Amazingly, this is a battle between two teams sitting 15th in their respective divisions.

Spurs have lost 12 games in the Premier League, while Hoffenheim’s record in the Bundesliga reads four wins, five draws and nine defeats.

With each struggling for form, this is a must-win, for Hoffenheim in particular as they currently sit 26th in the Europa League and are staring down the barrel of elimination.

The Germans will have home advantage, but Spurs’ attacking might – albeit without the absent Dominic Solanke – should be enough to steer them to victory. Expect goals in this one!

Manchester United vs Rangers: Both teams to score @ 1.82

An all-British battle takes place on Thursday night, with both sides residing in the Top 8.

Rangers drew 1-1 with Tottenham at Ibrox on Matchday 6 and should be eyeing another positive result against a struggling Premier League outfit.

United enter this fixture on the back of a demoralising 3-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford, with Ruben Amorim seemingly unable to plug his leaky defence.

With Rangers scoring three or more goals in five of their last six matches across all competitions, we can see the Scottish side joining the Red Devils in rippling the back of the net.

Athletic Bilbao to beat Besiktas @ 1.85

Thursday’s earliest fixture sees the impressive Athletic Bilbao travel to Turkey with a place in the Top 8 all but secured.

The Spanish side sit 2nd on 16 points, five ahead of Tottenham in 9th.

So a win here would secure a spot in the last 16 and even in a hostile Istanbul atmosphere, alongside the presence of new Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Basque outfit’s quality should shine through.

Athletic have won five matches in a row in the Europa League and are also unbeaten in 12 La Liga games, while Besiktas are sixth in the Super Lig and finding wins of any form hard to come by.

Viktoria Plzen vs Anderlecht: Draw @ 3.26

Anderlecht are struggling somewhat in the Jupiler Pro League, by their own lofty standards anyway, but are enjoying their Europa League campaign thus far.

The third-placed Belgian side are unbeaten in six with four wins and sit on the verge of automatic qualification to the last 16 as things stand.

But while Plzen are way back in 17th with only two wins on the board in Europe, this match should be far closer than the table shows.

At home, the Czech side can be a serious force, as Man United discovered when only securing a 2-1 comeback win. So we are backing a draw in this intriguing Europa League clash.
