Bournemouth vs Manchester City: FA Cup Preview, Odds & Tips

The last FA Cup quarter-final of the weekend sees favourites Manchester City visit Bournemouth.

It is being billed as the clash of the round, particularly as it represents the Citizens’ last chance of silverware this season.

But beating Bournemouth on their own patch has proven to be a tough task for the top sides of late and Andoni Iraola will be eyeing another major scalp.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City Preview

Neither of these sides were in particularly good form prior to the international break.

Bournemouth have won just two of the last six across all competitions and one of those victories was on penalties against Wolves in the FA Cup Fifth Round following a 1-1 draw.

But City’s record does not make for great reading either, also with just two wins in the last six.

A 1-0 win at Tottenham and a 3-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle in this competition was followed by a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest and a 2-2 draw with Brighton at the Etihad.

City just cannot find a level of consistency in 2024-25, though attacking stars like Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush should feel confident of testing a Bournemouth defence seemingly unable to keep a clean sheet.

The Cherries have conceded in each of the last six, although City’s defensive issues have been a talking point all campaign.

As such, Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo and Evanilson can cause Pep Guardiola’s side all sorts of problems, just like they did back in November.

Bournemouth beat City 2-1 at the Vitality, with Evanilson and Semenyo both on the scoresheet.

A repeat performance would mean no member of the so-called ‘Top 6’ making it to the semi-finals, something unthinkable before a ball was kicked this season.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City Odds

*All odds are subject to change

City’s reputation means they are the favourites here at odds of 2.35. A Bournemouth victory is priced at 2.78, while the draw after 90 minutes is 3.57.

Bournemouth vs Manchester City Betting Tips

Evanilson to score anytime @ 2.67

Evanilson is Bournemouth’s form attacker heading into this match. The Brazilian striker scored the Cherries’ only goal in the Fifth Round win over Wolves and was also on target in the 2-2 draw at Tottenham. We are backing him to emulate his previous performance against City with another goal.

Over 3.5 goals in the match @ 2.13

As previously mentioned, both of these teams are leaking goals. Clean sheets are at a premium whenever they play of late, so wagering on a high number of goals seems like a sensible course of action.

Bournemouth to win and over 3.5 goals in the match @ 5.50

And if, like us, you believe there will be goals aplenty on the South Coast, why not combine that with a Bournemouth win? The odds look pretty tasty!
