UFC Des Moines sees a fascinating night of fights arrive at the Wells Fargo Arena in Iowa on Saturday night with a bantamweight main event between two top contenders at 135lb.
Deiveson Figueiredo takes on Corey Sandhagen in a main event with serious implications atop the division. Meanwhile the co-main sees the return of two rising stars in Reinier De Ridder and Bo Nickal in the middleweight division.
The fight that has fans most excited, however, is the main card opener between former Cage Warriors champion Mason Jones and the returning Jeremy Stephens. Hometown star Stephens had been smashing it in BKFC and seemed on track for a massive money fight when the announcement of this fight was made and he was back in the Octagon.
A win would be massive given that he is on a one-fight deal, while Jones is excited to face a childhood hero. The Welsh star was just seven-years-old when Stephens was signed to the UFC first.
Ultimately, it’s a sleeper card with other major names involved including the legendary former champion Miesha Tate. She takes on Yana Santos in the prelim headliner with a top ten ranking in the offing at bantamweight.
And guaranteeing exciting action is the main card clash between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Daniel Rodriguez. The hard-hitting welterweights don’t do boring fights, so expect some big shots in this one.

UFC Des Moines Betting Preview and Best Bets
There are a number of intriguing markets available for this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night in Des Moines, Iowa.
The price that obviously jumps out is the whopping 18/5 for Figueiredo to win in the main event. Of course, he is not the force he was at flyweight now he’s up at bantamweight, but is there a bit too much value being placed on Sandhagen’s name? Since his wins over aging Marlon Moraes and Frankie Edgar, he has gone 3-3 with some losses that Figueiredo would fancy himself against like a post-retirement TJ Dillashaw. This Money Line is worth a look.
That 13/5 for De Ridder in the co-main event seems a touch wide as well given what we saw last time out from Bo Nickal against Paul Craig. The American is facing a monster weight cut of around 40lb in order to make it to middleweight for Friday’s weigh-in, which can’t be great for him. Another Money Line that is fascinating.
At 31/20, Rodriguez v Ponzinibbio going Under 2.5 rounds seems like buying money to us. This is a hard-hitting clash where both men know they need the finish. We reckon one of them is going to go ahead and get it.
Another little double we’re going to bet is Tate v Santos and Rodriguez v Robertson both to go over 2.5 rounds. It gets you to just shy of evens for what seems to us to be an almost nailed-on certainty. In their seven fights since 2021, Tate and Santos have five decisions and the two stoppages were late in round three. As for Rodriguez and Robertson, 16 of their 32 UFC fights have gone to decision.
