UFC 315 Preview: Latest Odds & Best Bets

UFC 315 Preview

UFC 315 sees the Octagon return to Montreal; the site of some of the promotion’s biggest nights as two world titles are put on the line.

In the main event, Belal Muhammad takes on Jack Della Maddalena for the welterweight title. Ian Machado Garry has been making his presence felt as the back-up fighter should either man miss weight, but it’s unlikely he will be needed as neither man has historically had any issue making the 170lb limit.

The co-main event sees French star Manon Fiorot attempt to end the latest title reign of the legendary Valentina Shevchenko. She hasn’t lost since her debut against Leah McCourt, who is a considerably bigger woman and now struggles to make the limit two weight divisions up. However, Shevchenko provides her far and away the toughest available test in all of WMMA.

While some fans will bemoan the joint headliners being put as the main attraction of a pay-per-view, they head up a strong undercard. The legend Jose Aldo returns, while former world champions Jessica Andrade and Alexa Grasso also feature, as well as Benoit Saint-Denis in a last-minute do-or-die clash. An intriguing addition to the prelims is two-division The Ultimate Fighter winner, Brad Katona.

UFC 315 Betting Preview and Best Bets

It’s always a big night for bettors whenever a UFC PPV arrives, and Saturday night is no exception.

Let’s kick off with the most obvious money-maker of them all; the main and co-main event ‘Alternative Winning Method’ double. Fiorot hasn’t got a finish in four years, while it’s been a similar amount of time since Shevchenko landed one. That’s almost nailed on at 7/20, and you throw in Muhammad, who has just three finishes in his 15 UFC wins against an opponent who hasn’t fought in over a year, it’s a recipe for a decision at 11/20. Bundle them together and you’ve got more than evens (21/20) on an almost guaranteed winner.

Despite only having one fight in the UFC, which he lost to Umar Nurmagomedov over a year ago, Bekzat Almakhan is a massive favourite to beat Brad Katona. We’d bet on the Canadian here at 6/5 for a fraud check.

Our tipster always enjoys picking against an unproven, undefeated prospect so we’re also going to back Ivan Erslan to beat Navajo Sterling at a whopping 12/5. We also like the 11/5 price on Alexa Grasso to beat Natalia Silva.

If you want a real outside bet, we’re not so sure that Jose Aldo is still going to be the same after that defeat to Mario Beautista that unceremoniously shut down his comeback. He’s a massive favourite against Aiemann Zahabi but we reckon that 17/10 price on Zahabi is a solid bet as well.
