Tottenham vs Manchester United Preview
The less said about Spurs and United in the Premier League this season, the better.
Last Friday saw the pair typically suffer defeats, with Ange Postecoglou’s men losing 2-0 at Aston Villa and Ruben Amorim’s side enduring another failure at Chelsea.
Spurs currently sit 17th in the table, with United just one place above them – a scenario which would have seemed unthinkable before the start of the season.
But while those failures have been well documented, the Europa League has proven to be a beacon of hope for each club.
United are unbeaten in the competition following their 7-1 aggregate victory over Athletic Bilbao in the semis, while Spurs have not lost in five consecutive European contests.
Postecoglou’s side won 1-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt to reach the final four and then eased past Bodo/Glimt, triumphing 5-1 over two legs.
So if the Europa League versions of these two sides show up in Bilbao tomorrow evening, we could be treated to a classic.
And if each side displays their Premier League form, the comedic value of the final may be fairly high.
Spurs’ injury absentees are more concerning ahead of kick-off, with James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall all set to miss out.
Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro are doubts for United, but Amorim should still be able to call upon the majority of his big hitters.
However, Spurs can take comfort from the fact they have beaten United three times already this season, the most recent a 1-0 victory in North London on February 16.

Tottenham vs Manchester United Betting Tips
Bruno Fernandes to have over 1.5 shots on target @ 3.50
Fernandes has been a go-to man for United in the Europa League – and indeed in all competitions since he arrived at the club from Sporting Lisbon. With seven goals already on this stage, we expect him to have a significant impact in the final third.
Player to score or assist – Amad Diallo @ 2.25
Back to full fitness and looking sharp, Diallo will be targeting a huge performance in the final. With 10 goals and nine assists across all competitions, the Ivorian’s odds here look very, very tempting.
To win the trophy – Manchester United @ 1.80
We fancy United to lift the trophy in Bilbao – and this option removes the risk of the game going to extra-time and penalties. The Red Devils did lose the 2021 final on penalties to Villarreal, though we would back them to hold their nerves this time around. Amorim’s side beat Arsenal in an FA Cup shootout at the start of the year.
