Tennis: French Open 2025 Preview

French Open 2025 Preview

The second Grand Slam of the year is now tantalisingly close as the best tennis players in the world prepare to do battle at the French Open.

Lifting the trophy at Roland Garros in Paris is what men and women dream of when they start playing the game, but only one in each gender bracket can emerge victorious.

Played on clay courts, this tournament was previously dominated by the great Rafael Nadal, who claimed the prize a record 14 times during his glittering professional career.

His compatriot Carlos Alcaraz is the reigning champion and stopping the Spaniard in 2025 may very well prove to be an impossible task – even for World No1 Jannik Sinner.

Iga Swiatek won last year’s women’s event and she is on a run of four victories in five years. Can she make it five from six? Aryna Sabalenka may have other ideas!

Read on as UK betting site NetBet provides a preview of the tournament, as well as the outright tennis odds for both brackets on our website and app.

And if your bet on the French Open is coming in with time still left in a match or matches, our Cash Out feature allows you to collect potential winnings early.

French Open Preview

In the men’s bracket, it really is hard to look past either Alcaraz or Sinner.

The superstar pair played each other in last Sunday’s Italian Open final, with Alcaraz winning in straight sets and further highlighting his incredible ability on clay.

However, Sinner won the year’s first Grand Slam – the Australian Open – back in January and still looks as strong as ever after recently returning from a three-month doping ban.

But from a British perspective, Jack Draper could have a major say at this tournament after showing huge improvement on clay.

Draper reached the quarter-finals in Italy before being knocked out by Alcaraz, so write him off at your own peril.

Norwegian star Casper Rudd is another strong contender to watch out for, especially after his victory at the Madrid Open, in which he beat Draper in the final. He is also a two-time French Open runner-up!

In the women’s bracket, Sabalaneka arrives in great form having triumphed in Madrid and she should feel confident of ending Swiatek’s dominance at Roland Garros.

However, Sabalenka did lose to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and she is yet to get past the semi-final stage in France.

Coco Gauff and Jasmine Paolini are, of course, two players to keep a keen eye on, with the pair contesting the recent Italian Open final – which was won by Paolini, much to the delight of the home crowd.

We cannot wait for the action to get underway!
