Europa Conference League 2025/26 – Matchday 1 Betting Tips

Europa Conference League Matchday 1

The 2025-26 Europa Conference League campaign officially gets underway this evening.

Europe’s third-tier competition starts a little later than the Champions League and Europa League, as there are only six matchdays in the League Phase, not eight.

Crystal Palace are the sole Premier League representative this season, and Oliver Glasner’s side begin with a trip to face Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kyiv.

Can the Eagles repeat the feat achieved by both Chelsea and West Ham; lifting the trophy in May? Well, they are the joint pre-tournament favourites!

Dynamo Kyiv vs Crystal Palace: Anytime goalscorer – Ismaila Sarr @ 2.88

Palace will be eager to continue their impressive start to the season with a win on Matchday 1. Glasner’s men beat Liverpool 2-1 last Saturday, a result which sent shockwaves through English football. Sarr was on the scoresheet once again vs the Reds at Selhurst Park, his third goal in just four Premier League matches this term. So we are a tad shocked to see him at such good odds to find the back of the net vs Dynamo Kyiv. The side from Ukraine have drawn their last three league matches, conceding seven goals in that time. If they display the same level of defensive ineptitude, the pacey Sarr should have a field day in the final third.

Fiorentina vs SK Sigma Olomouc: Total goals – Under 2.5 @ 2.17

While we expect joint-tournament favourites Fiorentina to claim the victory here, we would be a tad surprised if La Viola did so by scoring plenty of goals. The team from Florence, who lost consecutive Conference League finals between 2023 and 2024, are yet to record a victory in Serie A, and have scored only three goals in five matches. Of course, Czech side Sigma (who currently sit a lowly eighth in the Chance Liga) are an inferior team to most of those currently in Italy’s top flight, but they should still be able to frustrate Fiorentina to some degree. A win by one or two goals for the hosts looks like a potential outcome, and if you are interested, Fiorentina to win 2-0 is at odds of 5.60.

Strasbourg to beat Slovan Bratislava @ 1.88

Strasbourg are one of the most exciting young teams in Europe right now, and the Ligue 1 side are third in the list of pre-tournament favourites ahead of Matchday 1. Managed by Liam Rosenior, Strasbourg have started the season pretty well, winning four of six top-flight matches and only suffering defeats to AS Monaco and Marseille. So even though Slovan Bratislava were part of the Champions League roster last season, we think the visitors can kickstart their campaign with a win. Yes, Slovan won four of their five league matches this term, but the Slovakian outfit failed to keep a clean sheet in any of those fixtures – and conceded two or more goals in four of them! With those numbers in mind, Strasbourg to win and both teams to score is priced at 3.47, if you fancy being a bit braver with your bet.

AEK Athens to beat NK Celje @ 2.05

AEK are unbeaten in the Greek Super League this season with four wins and a draw from five matches, as well as four clean sheets recorded. Furthermore, the side from Athens claimed a hugely impressive 3-1 aggregate victory over Belgian giants Anderlecht to reach the League Phase, so a trip to Slovenia will not be of too much concern to the players. That being said, Celje are in superb form, winning nine of 10 league matches and scoring a ridiculous 33 goals in the process, all while conceding only nine. This is a battle between two in-form teams and picking a winner is tough as a result, but AEK’s superior level of European experience means they get our seal of approval.
