Leeds vs Tottenham Preview
After a strong start to the season, including a 2-0 victory at Manchester City, Thomas Frank’s Spurs are finding wins hard to come by of late.
The 3-0 triumph over Doncaster in the EFL Cup was their sole success in the previous four matches, only mustering a 2-2 draw at Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Another 2-2 draw at Brighton on Matchday 5 was followed by a damaging 1-1 vs Wolves, where a stoppage-time goal from Joao Palhinha was required to salvage a point.
Palhinha has been something of a revelation in a Spurs jersey, as has Mohammed Kudus, though Xavi Simons is still finding his feet at the club despite a few bright moments.
As for Leeds, things are starting to click for Daniel Farke’s side, with just one defeat in the last four – and that was courtesy of an injury-time winner from Fulham.
The Whites beat Everton 1-0 at Elland Road on Matchday 1, before collecting home draws vs Bournemouth (2-2) and Newcastle (0-0).
Unbeaten on their own patch, Leeds can be a serious threat. The 3-1 win at Wolves two weeks ago was yet more evidence of their overall quality.
New arrivals Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach are each impressing in midfield, while Noah Okafor, Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin ensure Farke is not without attacking firepower.
The last time these two sides met at Elland Road in May 2023, Spurs claimed a 4-1 win thanks to two goals from the now departed Harry Kane.
But you feel this match will be a lot tighter than its predecessor…

Leeds vs Tottenham Betting Tips
Player to score or assist – Anton Stach @ 3.40
Stach has settled nicely into Premier League life, already registering a goal and an assist. The summer signing from Hoffenheim certainly has the quality to punish a Spurs defence which can still be vulnerable at times under Frank’s guidance. The North Londoners have kept just one clean sheet in the last four games across all competitions – and that was vs Doncaster in the EFL Cup!
Anton Stach to commit over 1.5 fouls @ 1.73
Stach is certainly not one to shy away from a challenge, having committed 10 fouls in his previous six appearances. He is one of just 15 players into double figures for the campaign, one behind Spurs’ Pape Sarr.
Joao Palhinha to make over 3.5 tackles @ 1.91
Palhinha has already made 24 tackles in the Premier League this season, averaging exactly four per appearance. In a hostile Elland Road atmosphere, Spurs need their midfield destroyer to replicate his efficiency in this key department.
