Sunderland to beat Manchester United and both teams to score @ 9.40
We start with perhaps our boldest tip of the season so far. Sunderland are riding the crest of a wave right now, sitting fifth in the table with 11 points on the board and fresh from a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest. Granit Xhaka is pulling the strings in midfield, while striker Wilson Isidor has taken to Premier League football like a duck to water. So the Black Cats will be full of confidence for their trip to Old Trafford, where the pressure on Ruben Amorim’s shoulders continues to grow after a 3-1 loss at Brentford last weekend. United won their last two home games against Burnley (3-2) and Chelsea (2-1), but did lose 1-0 to Arsenal on Matchday 1. United have scored in six of seven matches this season, but failed to keep a clean sheet in any of them, trends which suggest this selection may be a risk worth taking.
Leeds vs Tottenham: Player to score or assist – Mohammed Kudus @ 2.50
Kudus was given a rest in the 2-2 Champions League draw with Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday evening, meaning he should be fairly fresh for a tricky trip to Elland Road. In truth, Spurs’ attack looked a little blunt without the Ghanaian star, who has three assists in six Premier League appearances this season. Leeds conceded two goals against Bournemouth in their previous home match, which suggests Spurs should not be short of space in the attacking third. And if Kudus is given time on the ball by Daniel Farke’s back-line, expect him to weave some magic, whether that be in the form of a goal or an assist.
Arsenal vs West Ham: Total goals – Under 2.5 @ 2.37
Had Graham Potter been in charge of West Ham, we would not be tipping this selection. But now the more pragmatic Nuno Espirito Santo is in the Hammers hot-seat, the bet feels like a potential source of value. Arsenal were a little lacklustre in front of goal at the Emirates vs Olympiacos on Wednesday, requiring a stoppage-time strike from Bukayo Saka to secure the 2-0 win. And Mikel Arteta’s side needed late heroics from Gabriel Martinelli to make it 1-1 against Manchester City in their previous home league match. Furthermore, West Ham have not conceded a goal at the Emirates since December 2022, winning 1-0 last season and 2-0 in 2023-24. A low-scoring London derby could be on the cards.
Wolves vs Brighton: Double Chance – Wolves or Draw @ 1.78
Wolves picked up their first point of the season last weekend at Tottenham, drawing 1-1 and delivering a positive performance which must surely have pleased manager Vitor Pereira. Now it is down to the Wanderers to build on that display in North London against Brighton, who beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge last weekend. The Seagulls did lose 2-1 at Bournemouth in their previous away match, though, and suffered a 2-0 defeat at Everton on Matchday 2. Interestingly, neither team has kept a clean sheet in the Premier League this season, so this should be a goal-filled affair at Molineux, one which we believe will end with Wolves avoiding a sixth defeat of the campaign.
