UFC 320 Betting Preview: Latest Odds & Best Bets

UFC 320 brings the octagon back to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for a world title double-header of unmissable pay-per-view action.

It was far from an upset when Magomed Ankalaev dethroned Alex Pereira at light-heavyweight earlier this year, but it did the sport no favors. Yet another Eastern-style grappler takes a belt and casual fans are driven away by a five-round bore. Now, the Brazilian has a chance to not only get his belt back, but potentially save the sport in the eyes of fans who believe his style can attract more mainstream eyeballs.

The co-main event is another big one as the similarly grappling-heavy Merab Dvalishvili defends his bantamweight title against fan favorite Cory Sandhagen. The Georgian makes up for perhaps not the most fan-friendly style with bizarre antics inside the cage including kissing Sean O’Malley and once even knocking himself out while shooting for a takedown with too much enthusiasm. And he faces a real knockout risk in Sandhagen, who has been a perennial title contender at 135lb.

UFC 320 Betting Preview and Best Bets

If you keep yourself informed, there are a lot of chances to make big money on Saturday night away from the main event.

Initially, you can get yourself a respectable 3/4 on a double of Brogan Walker-Sanchez vs Veronica Hardy and Yara Santos vs Macy Chiasson both going over 2.5 rounds, which is always an obvious bet. Throw in Austin Vanderford’s fight given his grappling-heavy style and you could find yourself at 2/1.

The fight of the night in everyone’s mind is Khalil Rountree Jr and Jiri Prochazka. Many will tell you to bet the house on this fight going under 2.5 rounds at 12/25, but I wouldn’t be so sure. Rountree’s power wasn’t enough to get Jamahal Hill out of there last time, and Prochazka is certainly just as tough if not more so.

The over at 8/5 or even over 1.5 rounds at 4/6 looks good for these two five round fighters, who return to the world of three rounders for this main card bout. However, the bet to look at is winner by decision at 21/10.

A little outside bet that is also worth mentioning is Abus Magomedov to beat Joseph Pyfer at a whopping 41/20. Pyfer’s world beater credentials are far from what they seemed, and Magomedov is one of those middleweight gatekeepers who might mess around and ‘fraud check’ the up and comer.

In the main event, the evens bet on Ankalaev to win by submission or decision is the one. It’s just hard to imagine where Pereira goes from the first fight, and that Russian style is so relentless.
