UFC 321 Betting Preview: Latest Odds & Best Bets

UFC 321 Preview

UFC 321 is a dream for British fight fans, as the octagon returns to Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena for a world heavyweight title showdown that takes place on Emirati time, just three hours ahead of the UK.

Usually, Brits have to stay up until the early hours of the morning to catch a UFC pay-per-view, and even Tom Aspinall’s Manchester homecoming was held in the middle of the night to appease American pay-per-view audiences.

But this time around, the main card kicks off at 7pm UK time, with the headliner likely walking no later than 10pm as Aspinall looks to consolidate his newly-minted undisputed heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane in a long-awaited grudge match of sorts.

It’s also, coincidentally, an absolutely stacked card of action. The co-main event sees a new strawweight champion crowned as Mackenzie Dern takes on Virna Jandiroba in what is something of a battle of Brazil. Umar Nurmagomedov returns against Mario Bautista in a bantamweight title eliminator while the next heavyweight challenger is also likely to be decided between Alexander Volkov and Jailton Almeida.

And that’s just the main card!

UFC 321 Betting Preview and Best Bets

There are a number of great ways to make money this weekend, but bear in mind British bettors, it might mean going against Aspinall.

Initially, you can get yourself a respectable 19/20, nearly evens, bet on the co-main event between Mackenzie Dern and Virna Jandiroba going the distance and a winner being determined by decision. They’re both amazing grapplers, which can cancel out and make for a boring fight. 21/20 on a submission either way is definitely also worth a look.

Last time we told you to pick Louie Sutherland his fight got cancelled, but it seems that the UFC have matched him as if he won that bout. He’s facing a much tougher test in Valter Walker, but insists that he’s going to land a KO in his octagon debut. If he does that, it’s 5/2 and could make you some decent money. In fact, why not try an all-British treble of Nathaniel Wood, Louie Sutherland and Tom Aspinall to win at a whopping 17/2? It’s very unlikely, but pints are on you all night if it comes through.

Another interesting little bet that caught my eye was Alexander Volkov at very nearly 2/1 odds to beat Jailton Almeida. He arguably beat Ciryl Gane last time out, and is a genetic freak who Aspinall claims is even bigger than his official stats claim. Bet against him at your peril, and perhaps earn a profit by picking him.

In the main event, it’s 3/4 to pick the over, which is 1.5 rounds. If Ciryl Gane can keep his distance and box with Aspinall, that’s distinctly possible. What also stands out given the Frenchman’s disastrous grappling is a potential Aspinall submission win, which is priced at a solid 13/5, well worth a punt.
