It is nearly time for the final major before the PDC World Championship, with the 2025 edition of the Grand Slam of Darts getting underway on Saturday.

A unique tournament in the darting world thanks to its intriguing group-stage format, it should be a week full of world-class arrows in Wolverhampton, with the final scheduled for Sunday, November 16.

World No2 Luke Littler is the defending champion and pre-tournament favourite, though no player has retained the title since three-time winner Gerwyn Price in 2019.

We have previewed the Grand Slam of Darts 2025 before things get underway on the weekend, detailing the latest outright darts odds and picking out some online betting tips.

Grand Slam of Darts 2025 Preview

This 32-player tournament is unlike any other, with the top two in each of the eight groups progressing to the knockout stage.

Littler is unsurprisingly the man to beat, having already won the World Championship, World Matchplay and World Grand Prix in 2025.

But the teenage sensation did not emerge victorious at the recent European Championship, with Dutchman Gian van Veen beating Premier League champion Luke Humphries in the final.

Van Veen has now got a taste for winning on the big stage, which does not bode well for the rest of the circuit over the next two months or so – and beyond!

Littler, Humphries, Van Veen and Gerwyn Price are the four big pre-tournament favourites, though the Grand Slam often lends itself to an underdog story.

We will also see two women taking part in this edition of the Grand Slam, with young prodigy Beau Greaves and Lisa Ashton making the cut.

Greaves, who recently beat Littler to become the first female to reach the World Youth Championship final, could be the real surprise package of the tournament.

Her game has improved at a rapid rate over the last 12 months or so, now hitting 100+ averages with fantastic regularity.

Grand Slam of Darts 2025 Betting Tips

Winning Nationality – England @ 1.61

The last three winners of this tournament have hailed from England (Littler, Humphries and Smith) and we would be surprised if this run came to an end. Littler or Humphries have won every major event in 2025 bar the European Championship – in which Van Veen succeeded. Littler and Humphries are a class above most others right now, while Wade, Bunting and Aspinall are all major winners themselves.

Group A Winner – Luke Humphries @ 1.57

World No1 Humphries should be too strong for Aspinall, Smith and Spellman in Group A. His closest competitor for top spot will likely be Aspinall, with Humphries winning eight of their previous 10 encounters.

Group F Winner – Gian van Veen @ 2.25

Group F looks by far the toughest on paper, with Van Veen, Rock and Nijman among the best players on the circuit. You have to feel for Ashton, but the qualification battle here should be fascinating to watch. Van Veen just about gets our nod of approval due to his brilliant record vs World Cup winner Rock. The recently-crowned European champion has won seven of his eight games vs Rock in senior competitions.
