FC Basel vs Aston Villa: Anytime goalscorer – Emi Buendia @ 2.60
Buendia is probably still smiling after his dramatic winning goal off the bench vs Arsenal on the weekend. The Argentine was unlucky not to start at Villa Park, but expect him to be drafted in for this fixture. And if Unai Emery makes that call, wagering on Buendia to score vs out-of-sorts Basel looks a great bet. He already has five goals in all competitions this season, and should be on set-piece duty. Buendia was also on target in Villa’s 2-0 win at Feyenoord on Matchday 2, and we are backing him to enjoy another great European away day as Villa look to consolidate a spot in the Top 8.
Nottingham Forest to beat Utrecht @ 1.78
Forest are 16th in the table, but sit just two points outside the Top 8 following a 3-0 win over Malmo on Matchday 5. Sean Dyche’s side lost 3-0 at Everton on the weekend, although we expect them to bounce back at Utrecht. Forest have kept three consecutive clean sheets in the Europa League, winning two of those matches and drawing the other. Utrecht have won only two of the last eight across all competitions, keeping only one clean sheet in that time. The Premier League side should be able to comfortably live up to their ‘pre-match favourites’ tag here.
Lyon vs Go Ahead Eagles: Anytime goalscorer – Corentin Tolisso @ 2.57
Tolisso’s form in this season’s Europa League for current table-toppers Lyon has been unexpectedly brilliant. The versatile midfielder, who previously represented Bayern Munich, has four goals in just three appearances, making him the joint-second top scorer. And with Go Ahead Eagles being one of the tournament’s weaker sides, we can see Tolisso adding to his already impressive tally. The Dutch visitors lost 4-0 to Stuttgart on Matchday 5, and have conceded 12 goals in their last four matches across all competitions. Over to you, Corentin!
As Roma to beat Celtic @ 2.22
The Wilfried Nancy era at Celtic got off to the worst possible start on the weekend, as the Bhoys lost 2-1 at home to title rivals Hearts. That result places extra significance on this fixture, which is far from ideal against a team of Roma’s quality. And while Celtic will take comfort from the fact that the Serie A side lost each of the last two vs Napoli (0-1) and Cagliari (1-0), we still expect an away victory here. Roma beat Rangers 2-0 at Ibrox earlier in the season, and we would not be shocked to see a repeat performance on return to Glasgow against a Celtic side marred by attacking inefficiency in 2025-26.
