Leeds vs Arsenal: Dominic Calvert-Lewin to have over 0.5 shots on target @ 1.67
Arsenal’s usually-strong defence has looked a bit suspect in recent games, conceding three to Man Utd and even failing to keep a clean sheet against Kairat Almaty, albeit in a 3-1 win. That will be music to the ears of Leeds and in-form striker Calvert-Lewin. He has tallied nine goals in the Premier League, as well as nine shots on target in the previous eight matches. In fact, Calvert-Lewin has registered at least one SOT in four of his last five appearances at Elland Road, where Leeds are a seriously strong outfit. So we are backing him to capitalise on Arsenal’s small defensive slump and sting David Raya’s gloves at least once.
Chelsea vs West Ham: Anytime goalscorer – Joao Pedro @ 2.30
Pedro continued his red-hot form in Chelsea’s magnificent 3-2 win at Napoli in the Champions League. The Brazilian scored twice to complete the comeback victory, with the first goal an absolute screamer from outside the box. Pedro also netted in each of the last two Premier League matches vs Brentford (2-0) and Crystal Palace (1-3), and that level of efficiency will concern West Ham. The Hammers have conceded 45 goals this season – the worst record in the division – and Pedro played a role in three of them, tallying a goal and an assist in August’s 5-1 win for the Blues at the London Stadium. With the supporting numbers mentioned above, we just cannot see many better selections for this weekend!
Manchester United to score over 2.5 goals vs Fulham @ 2.75
Michael Carrick has transformed United in the space of two games. Last weekend’s famous 3-2 win at Arsenal was preceded by a deserved 2-0 victory over Manchester City, and the whole squad looks revitalised under his rule. Bryan Mbeumo scored in both those games, while Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha have all looked sharp since Carrick’s return. With that in mind, we really fancy the Red Devils to put on a bit of a show at Old Trafford this weekend. Fulham are a good side and in decent form, but have failed to keep a clean sheet in six matches. If United score early, it could be a long day for the visitors.
Sunderland to beat Burnley @ 1.74
Amazingly, Sunderland are now the only team yet to lose a match at home following Arsenal’s aforementioned defeat to United. The Black Cats have won six of 11 games at the Stadium of Light thus far, scoring 18 goals and conceding only nine. So despite the fact key midfielder Granit Xhaka may be ruled out again after missing the 3-1 loss at West Ham, you have to fancy a Sunderland victory here. Burnley are fighting hard in the ongoing relegation battle, but their away record is deeply concerning. Scott Parker’s men have lost eight matches on the road this season and won just one, conceding 27 goals in 11 trips. Ahead of a game against a team which is formidable on home soil, that is far from ideal!
