Six Nations 2026 Preview

Antoine Dupont’s flair-filled France are the holders, though there is a slight air of uncertainty surrounding Les Bleus. The squad is being taken in a different direction with as many as 10 uncapped players making the cut.

So it remains to be seen what France will deliver on the Six Nations stage this time around, and the tournament opener against control-centric Ireland at the Stade de France could play a pivotal role in the destination of the trophy.

The French are, of course, the pre-competition favourites on NetBet, though looking past Steve Borthwick’s resurgent England could be a big mistake.

Under the astute captaincy of Maro Itoje, supported by the likes of Jamie George, England are on an 11-match winning run, with victories recorded over New Zealand, Australia and France in that time.

In fact, the last time the Red Roses tasted defeat was against Ireland in last year’s Six Nations, which was a 27-22 epic in Dublin.

A home match against the formidable Irish this time around – with Scotland, Italy and Wales unlikely to put up any real challenge, particularly the latter two – means it could be a memorable start to the year for England.

The Red Roses’ fifth and final match against the French on Super Saturday may very well prove to be the championship game, and also decide whether either team completes the coveted Grand Slam.

In terms of players to watch out for in Borthwick’s squad, rising star Henry Pollock – who is England’s youngest ever tryscorer at the Six Nations – has the ability to take this tournament by storm after some more stellar displays over the past 12 months.

Oh and France’s free-scoring Louis Bielle-Biarrey is another prodigious young talent to keep an eye out for, so much so that he is the 2.50 favourite to be the Top Tournament Tryscorer, even ahead of Ireland’s Dan Sheehan (5.00)!

Six Nations 2026 Betting Tips

Triple Crown – England @ 1.80

England’s form heading into the Six Nations makes a Triple Crown triumph a distinct possibility. A home win over Wales is all but a given, while Ireland have emerged victorious just once in their last five visits to Twickenham. Of course, England’s recent record at Murrayfield against Scotland is poor, collecting just one win in the last four trips, but the current version of the Red Roses certainly has what it takes to beat the Scots in their own backyard.

To finish bottom – Wales @ 1.91

It is no secret that Welsh rugby has fallen off a cliff in recent years. Since February 2024, Wales have played 22 official matches and won only two of them – both against Japan by narrow margins. That shocking run includes Six Nations losses both home and away to Italy, the second favourites to finish bottom this time around, as well as a 73-0 loss to South Africa back in November. A third consecutive bottom-place finish sadly beckons for coach Steve Tandy and a Red Dragons side in transition.
