Chelsea to score over 2.5 goals vs Burnley @ 1.82
Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea have certainly found the scoring touch of late, winning 4-0 at Hull in the FA Cup last Friday. It means the Blues have netted three or more goals in four of the last six matches across all competitions, an impressive record indeed. And even though Burnley came from 2-0 down to beat Crystal Palace on Matchday 26, the Clarets slipped up majorly in the FA Cup, losing 2-1 at home to Mansfield. Scott Parker’s side have now conceded two or more goals in each of the last five fixtures, so we fancy the likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez to enjoy another goal-filled day at Stamford Bridge.
Brentford vs Brighton: Anytime goalscorer – Igor Thiago @ 1.98
We still do not know how Thiago failed to register another goal in last Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal. The Brazilian striker missed a number of good chances, but failed to beat David Raya. Although, Thiago’s wait for an 18th goal of the top-flight season may not last long, because Brighton are perhaps the ideal opponent for any high-quality forward at this moment in time. The Seagulls most recently lost 3-0 at Liverpool in the FA Cup, making it just one win in the last eight. Furthermore, Fabian Hurzeler’s side conceded in all eight of those games, so backing Thiago – who scored from the penalty spot in the reverse fixture – at close to evens looks a wise move.
Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool: Player to score or assist – Mohamed Salah @ 1.91
Salah’s form in recent weeks has gone slightly under the radar. The Egyptian has three goals in his last four Premier League appearances, while he scored and assisted in the FA Cup victory over Brighton. Salah looks to have rediscovered his mojo under Arne Slot, which is ominous for a leaky Forest defence that is also having to cope with additional demands from the Europa League. With Salah being Liverpool’s designated penalty taker, and the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai shining around him, the chances of a goal or an assist at the City Ground look fairly high.
Crystal Palace vs Wolves: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.91
After Wolves’ comeback from 2-0 down against Arsenal, we really like the look of the BTTS market for this fixture. Sure, we still back Palace to eventually claim the win at Selhurst Park, but the Eagles are really struggling to keep clean sheets – clearly missing the presence of Marc Guehi. In fact, Palace have kept just one clean sheet in the last six and lest we forget, the South Londoners surrendered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 against Burnley last time out. Four of the last five meetings between Palace and Wolves saw both of them score, the outlier being the Eagles’ 2-0 win at Molineux earlier in the season. But Wolves have certainly improved since that November clash!
