Premier League football takes a short sabbatical this weekend as the FA Cup returns.
It is the fifth round of football’s oldest cup competition, which also means the re-addition of VAR (sorry to be the bearer of bad news).
Plenty of top-flight clubs are in action, while some lower-league sides are looking to spoil the party and enter themselves into the quarter-final draw.
Another fascinating FA Cup weekend awaits, and here are our online betting picks for the upcoming action.

Wolves vs Liverpool: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.70
Friday night’s fixture is an exact repeat of Tuesday’s game at Molineux, which evolved into a Premier League epic. Wolves won 2-1 thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Andre, a result which has damaged the Reds’ hopes of Champions League qualification. So Arne Slot’s men are out for revenge here, though achieving it against Rob Edwards’ seemingly revitalised side may not be easy. As such, we are predicting both teams to score again in a thrilling fifth-round tie. Each of the last four meetings between these teams has seen this selection land.
Arsenal to score over 3.5 goals vs Mansfield @ 2.01
With Arsenal involved in the Premier League title race and the Champions League knockout stage, expect major squad rotation from Mikel Arteta here. However, the Gunners’ depth means that even if the manager makes significant changes, the XI will still be littered with international-level quality. So Mansfield, who sit 16th in League One ahead of kick-off, may struggle to get anywhere near the Premier League leaders, even with home advantage. Arsenal scored over 3.5 goals in their two previous FA Cup matches vs Portsmouth (1-4) and Wigan (4-0).
Newcastle vs Manchester City: Total goals – Over 2.5 @ 1.51
This is the fifth meeting of the season between Newcastle and Man City, and the third at St James’ Park. Three of the previous four games saw over 2.5 goals scored, which is a good omen for this selection. Furthermore, each of Newcastle’s last four home matches across all competitions saw over 2.5 goals scored, following Wednesday’s dramatic 2-1 win over Manchester United. City drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest the same evening, another goal-filled affair which suggests this bet looks close to a banker.
West Ham vs Brentford: Anytime goalscorer – Crysencio Summerville @ 4.75
West Ham’s recent renaissance has been partly down to the stellar form of fleet-footed winger Summerville. He scored the winner at Fulham on Wednesday night, taking him to five goals in his last eight Premier League appearances. Summerville also netted in the Hammers’ last two FA Cup wins over QPR and Burton Albion, so his odds here could represent exceptional value. Brentford drew 0-0 at Bournemouth on Tuesday, but previous away games vs Newcastle (2-3) and Burnley (3-4) showed that their defence is far from rock solid on the road.
