Aston Villa to beat Lille @ 1.61
Villa won 1-0 at Lille last week, and now have a quarter-final spot in their crosshairs. And with Premier League form falling off a cliff in recent weeks, Unai Emery will be well aware of this fixture’s importance, so expect him to field a very strong XI at Villa Park. As such, the Villans should have too much for Lille here, despite the fact the Ligue 1 side won 2-1 at Rennes on the weekend. Villa won all four home matches in the League Phase – and their last home meeting against French opposition saw them beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-2!
FC Midtjylland vs Nottingham Forest: Double chance – Midtjylland win or draw @ 1.68
After last week’s 1-0 loss at the City Ground, the Forest players could be forgiven for now looking to focus more on the battle to remain in the Premier League. Vitor Pereira’s side are just above the relegation zone, and have a six-pointer against fellow drop candidates Tottenham on the weekend. So Forest may be a little bit too distracted to bounce back in this tie, and covering the two outcomes which would see Midtjylland qualify for the quarters feels a sensible course of action. The Danish side won all four home matches in the League Phase, conceding only one goal in the process.
Lyon vs Celta Vigo: Player to score or assist – Endrick @ 1.75
Endrick has been something of a revelation since joining Lyon on loan from Real Madrid in January. The Brazilian teenager salvaged a 1-1 draw at Celta Vigo last week with an 87th-minute strike, taking him to six goals and four assists in 12 appearances for the French side. It is a mighty fine record, one which we are backing him to extend in this intriguing second leg. Celta have conceded at least once in their last four away matches – and have kept just two clean sheets in the Europa League this season. Meanwhile, Lyon scored 10 goals in their four home League Phase matches!
Roma vs Bologna: Both teams to score – Yes @ 2.03
This tie is level at 1-1 after the first leg, and we are a tad surprised to see odds at slightly better than evens for the BTTS selection to land once again. Roma have kept just one clean sheet in the last six matches, and conceded three times in their previous home outing – a 3-3 draw with Juventus. So while this wager has only landed in two of Bologna’s last six matches, it could well be a betting avenue to pursue at the Stadio Olimpico.
