It is nearly here, the first golf major of the year – the Masters!
The Premier League run-in may be in full swing and the Champions League is entering its final rounds, but even those football behemoths struggle to match the excitement of this golf extravaganza in the United States of America.
As per usual, the very best players on the planet will gather at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, and battle to win both the trophy and the iconic green jacket.
The latest edition of the Masters gets underway on April 9 and concludes on April 12, or what is more commonly known as ‘Masters Sunday’.

What happened at the Masters in 2025?
The Masters 2025 was all about one man – Rory McIlroy.
After so many struggles at Augusta, the Northern Irishman finally got over the line in the most dramatic way possible.
McIlroy beat Justin Rose in an 18th hole play-off to secure victory and a place among the pantheon of golfing greats.
He is now one of only six players to win a Career Grand Slam in the modern era, and it was followed up with more brilliance in the Ryder Cup as Team Europe claimed the win.
Can McIlroy emulate his 2025 Masters performance in 2026? We will soon find out!

Unsurprisingly, World No1 Scheffeler leads the way in NetBet’s pre-tournament market, with the American bidding to win his third green jacket.
He is one of a few masters (excuse the pun) of the famous Augusta course, and a third victory would see him become only the ninth player to achieve the feat.
Scheffeler is some way ahead of the rest in terms of odds, partly owing to the fact that he won two of last year’s majors – the PGA Championship and Open Championship.
Dechambeau is the only member of the top four in this outright market who is yet to win the competition, with McIlroy triumphing last year and Rahm emerging victorious back in 2023.
And another former champion to look out for is 2015 winner Spieth, who always seems to raise his game when the Masters comes around.
At 41.00, he could be a fantastic each-way bet, alongside fellow dark horses in Morikawa and Koepka – the latter of whom finished as runner-up in both 2019 and 2023.
