It is nearly time for the second tennis Grand Slam of 2026 – the always magnificent French Open.
The only Grand Slam to be held on clay courts, Roland Garros has a special place in the hearts of sports fans around the world.
And last year, we were treated to one of the greatest finals seen in any tennis competition between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
After over five hours of thrilling on-court action, Alcaraz eventually emerged victorious by winning a 10-point super tiebreaker.
Sadly, Alcaraz is not part of the 2026 French Open roster due to injury, and the tournament just won’t be the same without the sensational Spaniard.
His absence also makes Sinner the clear favourite for glory, though expect plenty of other top-ranked stars to at least challenge the Italian ace on the clay.
Because lest we forget, this is the one major tournament Sinner is yet to win, the one crown standing in the way of a Career Grand Slam.
Can Sinner finally get over the line in Alcaraz’s absence? Or will pressure get the better of him for a change? We will soon find out!
The French Open action from Paris gets underway on Sunday, May 24 and concludes on June 7 with the final.
Below, we have previewed the men’s section of the tournament, providing you with the latest outright tennis odds available on NetBet Sport.

French Open 2026 Men’s Preview
It really is hard to look past Sinner emerging victorious in Paris for the first time, given the World No1’s ridiculous form.
Last month, the young tennis superstar won both the Monte-Carlo Masters and the Madrid Open, before claiming the Italian Open title over the weekend with a final triumph over Casper Rudd.
And Sinner’s success in Rome saw him break a long-standing record held by Novak Djokovic. The quarter-final win over Andrey Rublev was his 32nd consecutive victory recorded at ATP Masters 1000 events, a quite incredible achievement.
Furthermore, he is only the second man – after Djokovic – to win all nine Masters 1000 titles, completing what is known as a ‘Golden Masters’.
To say form is on Sinner’s side is something of an understatement – and all eyes will be on him in Alcaraz’s untimely absence.
Sadly, Alcaraz is also not the only seeded player who has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming French Open.
British star Jack Draper, Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti will not take part in the event either, which is a real shame for tennis lovers.
But there will still be plenty of world-class athletes on show in Paris!
