Scotland are the main event on Friday with an 11pm kick-off UK time against Morocco at Boston Stadium. The Scots begin the evening at the top of Group C following on from their 1-0 win over Haiti. Morocco are hoping to secure their first victory having opened with a 1-1 draw against Brazil.
As usual we have an early start to the day, with a 2am kick-off featuring Mexico and South Korea at Estadio Guadalajara. Both teams recorded wins in their opening Group A matches, and an outright winner here would qualify for the Round of 32 with a game to spare.
Ahead of the Scotland game, co-hosts USA tackle Australia at Seattle Stadium at 8pm. It will be interesting to see whether the USA can continue the electric form that saw them overwhelm Paraguay 4-1 in Group D. Australia created one of the World Cup’s early shocks in beating Turkey 2-0 in Vancouver.

Mexico vs South Korea: Anytime Goalscorer – Raul Jimenez @ 2.63
Mexico’s 2-0 win over South Africa extended their unbeaten run to nine games. Even more impressive is the fact they have kept seven clean sheets in that sequence. Striker Raul Jimenez celebrated news of his transfer back to Wolves with a well-taken header in their Group A opener. Winger Julian Quinones struck first, continuing his form from the Saudi Pro League, where he scored a mighty 33 goals in just 31 games. South Korea shocked the Czech Republic with a 2-1 comeback win after trailing to a second-half goal. They are likely to let Mexico have possession and look to counter on the break through Son Heung-min. The LAFC striker has 56 goals in 145 appearances for his country, just two shy of the national record presently held by Cha Bum-kun. Mexico should have the muscle along with the backing of the crowd to clinch this one. Now that Jimenez has bagged his first ever World Cup goal, he’ll be hungry for more – and should be worth backing.
USA vs Australia: Goals – Over 2.5 @ 1.93
There has been a huge wave of optimism in the States following USA’s thumping 4-1 win over Paraguay in their first game in Group D. Striker Folarin Balogun proved his importance to the team with a double strike, and his total five shots on goal was the joint-most during the game. He also took the most touches in the opposition’s box, with 10. Nestory Irankunda opened the scoring for Australia as they stunned Turkey with a 2-0 win. He then emulated the trademark celebration of the Socceroos’ record goalscorer Tim Cahill by throwing punches at the corner flag. The Watford winger has bagged four goals in 10 games for his country through 2026. A theme of this World Cup so far is that teams have had a real go, rather than trying to play it safe. A win here for either side would almost guarantee qualification for the knockout stage, so there’s hope for a free-flowing encounter with plenty of goals.
Scotland vs Morocco: Anytime Goalscorer – Ismael Saibari @ 2.63
Scotland did what they needed to do against Haiti, securing the 1-0 win and a valuable three points in their quest to qualify for the knockout stage for the very first time. While the approach to that game was to push up and go for goal, the next two matches with Morocco and Brazil call for a different strategy. The Scots’ clean sheet came despite conceding 15 shots against Haiti, a worrying statistic as more clinical opponents would not have been so wasteful. Standing firm and hitting on the break will be the way forward. As a result, we could see boss Steve Clarke replace striker Lawrence Shankland with pacy Ipswich forward George Hirst. Morocco gave Brazil a few scares in their 1-1 draw in New Jersey. PSV striker Ismael Saibari looked particularly lively, shooting the Moroccans ahead on 21 minutes and having the joint-most shots on goal with three. He was prolific in the Eredivisie during the 2025-26 season, collecting 19 goals from 37 matches. He has also netted six goals in his last 10 appearances for his country. If he can break free of Scotland’s shackles, he could turn out to be the match winner.
