Brentford vs Tottenham – Premier League 2026/27 Match Preview & Betting Tips

Brentford vs Tottenham Preview

The 2026-27 Premier League season is nearly here, and the first Saturday of top-flight action concludes with an intriguing contest between Brentford and Tottenham.

Last term these sides endured contrasting fortunes. The Bees surpassed all expectations under Keith Andrews and were unlucky to miss out on European football, while Spurs only just avoided relegation.

The Lilywhites were saved by Roberto De Zerbi’s appointment late in the season, and now the onus is on the fiery Italian boss to fully rebuild the damaged club after a summer of lavish spending.

Ahead of kick-off at the Gtech Stadium, we have provided a full match preview, which includes some betting online tips and the latest Premier League odds.

And if your bet on this fixture is coming in with time still left to play, remember you can use NetBet’s Cash Out feature to claim potential winnings before the full-time whistle is blown.

Where can I watch Brentford vs Tottenham in the UK?

Recent results

After drawing 1-1 with Liverpool on the final day of 2025-26, Brentford reeled off two consecutive victories in pre-season. Andrews’ men first beat Rennes (2-4) and then claimed a huge 7-0 victory over Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spurs’ pre-season began with triumphs over MK Dons (1-0) and Auckland FC (0-2), before a victory on penalties against Sydney FC. A 2-1 loss to Chelsea was followed by a 1-1 draw with Getafe, before two matches in two days vs Hoffenheim – the first finishing 3-0 and the second 2-2.

Head-to-head record

The previous meeting at the Gtech back in January finished 0-0, with Spurs claiming a 2-0 victory on home soil at the start of last season.

Brentford failed to win any of the last five home matches against Spurs, though four ended in a draw.

Team news

Antoni Milambo and Sepp van den Berg are set to be the only absentees for Brentford, with big summer signing Mamadou Sangare likely to feature from the off in the middle of the park.

Tottenham still have some injury concerns. Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert and Dejan Kulusevski are ruled out, while Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven, Dominic Solanke and Mohammed Kudus remain doubts. But it means the majority of the summer signings should feature from the off. Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali are all available to De Zerbi.

Brentford vs Tottenham Betting Tips

Anytime goalscorer – Igor Thiago @ 2.36

After a tough World Cup 2026 campaign with Brazil, Thiago returned to scoring form with a brace in Brentford’s 7-0 victory over Eintracht. The striker finished 2025-26 with 22 goals, 13 of them netted in front of the Bees fans at the Gtech. We are backing him to start the new season with a flourish against a Spurs side which is something of an unknown quantity.

Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.52

But while it is quite hard to judge how Spurs will go in 2026-27, goals should flow at both ends with De Zerbi at the helm. Since the 1-0 loss to Sunderland in the Italian boss’ first game, the North Londoners scored at least one goal in every single outing – a run which stretches 13 games in total (including those in pre-season).

Total goals – Over 2.5 @ 1.60

And if you want slightly better odds than the BTTS selection advertised above, opting for at least three goals to be scored could be the way to go. Brentford’s last two Premier League games on home soil saw over 2.5 goals netted, as is the case for Spurs’ previous two away matches in the top flight.
