Everton vs Crystal Palace: Anytime goalscorer – Iliman Ndiaye @ 4.10

Everton ace Ndiaye enters the new season on the back of consecutive goal-scoring outings. The Senegal star netted from the penalty spot against both Newcastle and Lille, promising signs indeed ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Ndiaye now comes up against a Palace defence which is bereft of Maxcence Lacroix and conceded three times in three of their pre-season games – a slightly worrying trend for new manager Pierre Sage. Backing Ndiaye to improve his record of one goal in three matches vs Palace could therefore be a profitable move to make this weekend.

Ipswich to beat Sunderland @ 2.65

Ipswich have been very busy in the transfer market, bringing in some experienced figures such as Sasa Lukic, Issa Diop and Daizen Maeda to help new manager Gary O’Neil. The Tractor Boys also enjoyed a brilliant end to their pre-season, amassing three consecutive wins vs Le Havre (1-0), Rayo Vallecano (3-0) and Union Berlin (2-4).  You also have to go back to October 2025 for Ipswich’s last defeat at Portman Road, which is why we are betting against Sunderland here – despite them being the slight pre-match favourites. The Black Cats failed to win any of their previous three games against Ipswich, losing each of the last two.

Nottingham Forest vs Leeds: Anytime goalscorer – Igor Jesus @ 2.90

Forest striker Jesus scored four goals in his last eight 2025-26 Premier League appearances, helping the Tricky Trees avoid relegation in the process. The Brazilian also caught the eye in pre-season with four more goals, and it seems very likely that he gets the nod from new manager Oliver Glanser to start over veteran Chris Wood. Leeds kept just one clean sheet in their last five Premier League outings, as well as conceding six goals in as many pre-season games.

Brighton vs Aston Villa: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.48

Brighton and Villa are two teams renowned for playing high-energy and high-risk attacking football, so we expect goals at both ends here. The Seagulls tallied eight of them in just three pre-season matches, while this BTTS pick landed in all but one of Villa’s warm-up games – as well as in the 2-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup. In fact, both teams scored in each of Villa’s last four Premier League games, so backing the same outcome here at The Amex looks like a pretty safe bet to kick off 2026-27.
