Bournemouth vs Everton: Anytime goalscorer – Thierno Barry @ 3.40
What a start to the season it has been for Everton striker Barry. The Frenchman scored in the 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, before bagging a hat-trick at Preston in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night. Of course, Bournemouth represent a step up in class, but backing a striker in form can certainly be a wise betting strategy – especially when the odds on offer are so good! The Cherries failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight matches (including pre-season), which only adds to the potential posed by this selection.
Coventry vs Hull: Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.67
After losing 3-0 to Arsenal on their return to the Premier League, this is a big home match for Coventry against a fellow newly-promoted side. Frank Lampard will know this is close to must-win territory, so expect his side to go for the jugular from the offset. Looking from a Hull perspective, the shock 2-0 win over Manchester United eases the pressure posed by the away trip, which could see Sergej Jakirovic’s men play with even more freedom. BTTS, anyone? Prior to last season’s two 0-0 draws in the Championship, both teams had scored in six consecutive editions of this fixture!
Tottenham vs Newcastle: Player to score or assist – Savinho @ 2.14
Savinho announced himself to Spurs fans in the best possible manner on Wednesday evening. After a tough spell at Manchester City, the tricky winger scored and assisted from off the bench to help the North Londoners thrash Charlton 5-1 in the EFL Cup. That cameo should see him start against a Newcastle side which shipped two goals against West Brom on Wednesday, albeit in a 3-2 victory. And we are tipping Savinho to adorn himself further to the Spurs faithful with another key contribution.
Chelsea vs Brighton: Anytime goalscorer – Joao Pedro @ 2.37
It took Pedro less than a minute to register his first Premier League goal of the season. The Brazilian netted almost straight away in Monday’s 3-2 win at Fulham, continuing his fine form displayed in pre-season – when he struck an eye-catching seven times. Brighton impressed when dismantling both Aston Villa and Tromso 4-0 in the space of four days, but halting Chelsea’s new-look forward line – which boasts Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers alongside Pedro – looks a tall order indeed.
Brentford to beat Leeds @ 2.64
Brentford’s start to the season has been mighty impressive. After a dominant 3-0 win over Spurs, Keith Andrews’ men thrashed Birmingham 6-1 away from home in the EFL Cup – which is no easy feat. So the Bees have caught our attention, and we are boldly tipping them to beat a Leeds side coming off consecutive wins over Nottingham Forest. This could be one of the standout fixtures of the weekend, with the last three meetings ending as a draw. But this time around, Brentford can silence Elland Road.
