Recent results

In the regular season, the Patriots went 14-3 in the AFC, with the Seahawks recording identical figures in the NFC.

The Patriots could not avoid the Wild Card Round, though, but New England rose to the fore by beating the LA Chargers 16-3. A 28-16 victory over the Houston Texans followed, before a tense 10-7 win against the Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game.

As for the Seahawks, their postseason campaign got off to a dominant start with a 41-6 thrashing of the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. Things were far closer in the NFC championship match, but Seattle eventually prevailed over the LA Rams by a 31-27 scoreline.

Head-to-head record

These two teams have played each other 20 times in the NFL, with the Seahawks just about edging the series 11-9.

Most of the games were contested in the regular season, aside from the 2015 meeting – which was at Super Bowl XLIX.

A Tom Brady-inspired Patriots side triumphed 28-24 in that fixture, so the Seahawks are out for Super Bowl revenge 11 years later.

Key players

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye needs to have the game of his life here, if New England are to stand a chance. The 23-year-old is just at the start of his career, but is already regarded among the top operators in the NFL. Providing key support are star running back Rhamondre Stevenson and offensive linesman Mike Onwenu, as well as defensive leaders Christian Barmore and Keion White.

For the Seahawks, the whole team is littered with high-quality components, with quarterback Sam Darnold on the verge of one of the NFL’s greatest comeback stories. He has fought hard against a litany of setbacks, and is now the talk of the town. Assisting him are running back Kenneth Walker III – a bonafide touchdown scoring machine – and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, two players who are sure to leave their mark on Super Bowl LX.

New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks Betting Tips

Sam Darnold – Over 230.5 passing yards @ 1.85

The Seahawks’ quarterback has recorded 470 passing yards in the postseason, an average of 235 per appearance. So backing him to stay true to form in the Super Bowl cauldron could be a great betting avenue to go down.

Anytime touchdown scorer – Kenneth Walker III @ 1.52

As previously mentioned, Walker III has been scoring touchdowns at a fantastic rate in the postseason, tallying four in just two appearances. With the Seahawks being such heavy favourites, finding slightly more value in this player prop market may be the way to go.
