Fans across the continent are gearing up for the European Championships<\/a> this summer, with just days to go until the tournament kicks off. Euro 2020<\/a> was delayed a year due to the pandemic, but it hasn’t quelled excitement at all for this super intriguing competition.<\/p>\n

Who are the Favourites to win Euro 2020?<\/h2>\n

France<\/a> are, of course, favourites. They\u2019re World Cup champions and boast some of the best players in the world. Priced at 9\/2 ahead of England, Belgium, Germany and Spain, we think that their odds are fair, given who they have at their disposal. Top Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has returned to the squad for the first time since being frozen out of the squad in 2015, and they have some of the greatest players in the world among their squad, with Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann up top with Benzema, and Chelsea\u2019s N\u2019Golo Kante joining Manchester United star Paul Pogba in the centre of the park. Hugo Lloris is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he\u2019ll be pushed for his place by Steve Mandanda. They\u2019ll have to beat out some mighty contenders to get to the knockout stages, first taking on 2014 World Cup winners Germany. Then they\u2019ll face host country Hungary in front of one of the only capacity crowds of the tournament, before playing 2016 winners Portugal, who we have priced at 17\/2, and boast arguably the world\u2019s best player in Cristiano Ronaldo among their ranks.<\/p>\n

France’s Main Dangers<\/h2>\n

Germany are also worth a look at 15\/2, especially with head coach Joachim Low looking for the one last great moment before quitting the job for good later this summer. As with France, you\u2019d imagine their toughest test will be just getting out of that group of death, and if they can get one over on Portugal and\/or France, they\u2019ll very much fancy their chances to beat anyone in the tournament.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve got Belgium at 6\/1 to win, which is closer than the previous winners Portugal, and teams with experience in big finals like Italy and Spain. It would be something of an upset as the nation is not a footballing powerhouse, but they have fallen into having something of a golden generation in recent years with a whole squad full of world class players in every position, none more so than Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne. Expect a big tournament from the Manchester City star, who will be putting in a captain\u2019s shift despite the fact that Hazard will probably wear the armband. He\u2019s one of the absolute best players in the world, and with a goalscoring ability of his own that is complemented beautifully by his passing game, the Belgian frontline can expert to have a lot of chances at goal this year<\/p>\n

England will likely line out with a 3-4-3 formation, looking to work their wing backs up and down the flank, but depending on the opposition that could become a 3-4-1-2, 3-5-2 or even 3-4-2-1. It\u2019s a very attacking set-up that will rely on a strong set of performances from the front three, and it of course all relies on the goal scoring abilities of Kane and whomever joins him up top, be it Raheem Sterling or Phil Foden. We don\u2019t know if they\u2019ll win the whole tournament with this tactical setup, but there\u2019s definitely a good chance they qualify for the final, and we\u2019re confident they\u2019ll get out of the groups at the very least. It certainly would be a phenomenal feat to win the first major trophy in over five decades on home soil, and at 5\/1 to win the tournament outright, there is definitely a belief with many punters that this will happen and this group of players will go down in history.<\/p>\n
