Peter Wright | 2 Titles<\/b><\/h2>\n

After suffering back-to-back second round exits, Scotsman Wright produced a masterclass in 2020 to win his maiden title.<\/span><\/p>\n

He defeated Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in the final and two years later, he repeated the feat of victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wright won the 2022 edition of the tournament by beating Michael Smith 7-5 in the final. Snakebite is also one of only two men to hit 24 180s in a single World Championship match, a feat he achieved in the 2022 semi-finals.<\/span><\/p>\n

John Part | 2 Titles<\/b><\/h2>\n

Canadian darts player Part, who is now a commentator and pundit for Sky Sports, was the first non-British person to win the World Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

His first triumph came in 2003, beating Phil Taylor 7-6 in an epic finale. Five years later, Part won a second title by defeating Kirk Shephard 7-2 in a more one-sided match.<\/span><\/p>\n

Part remains the only non-European player to have won the World Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adrian Lewis | 2 Titles<\/b><\/h2>\n

Lewis, nicknamed Jackpot, was a sensational darts player in his younger days.<\/span><\/p>\n

The man from Stoke-on-Trent made his television debut as a 19-year-old and then went on to claim back-to-back World Championship crowns.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lewis beat Gary Anderson 7-5 in the 2011 final, a match in which he hit a 9 Dart Finish, before seeing off Andy Hamilton 7-3 a year later to retain the title.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gary Anderson | 2 Titles<\/b><\/h2>\n

Speaking of Anderson, he too won back-to-back World Championship titles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Four years after the aforementioned loss to Lewis, the Flying Scotsman beat Taylor 7-6 at Ally Pally to win the 2015 edition.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following year, Anderson got revenge for 2011 by beating Lewis 7-5 in the final. He also finished as runner-up in 2017 and 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael van Gerwen | 3 Titles<\/b><\/h2>\n

As well as winning the title in 2014, 2017 and 2019, Van Gerwen holds a host of World Championship records.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Green Machine, who was World No1 from 2014 right up until 2021, achieved a 100+ average in 19 consecutive matches from 2016 to 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Van Gerwen is also the youngest champion in history, lifting the trophy in 2014 at the age of just 24 years and 9 months.<\/span><\/p>\n

And in 2017, he recorded the highest match average in World Championship history, setting a ridiculous 114.05 in a 6-2 defeat of countryman Raymond van Barneveld.<\/span><\/p>\n

Phil Taylor | 14 titles<\/b><\/h2>\n

The undisputed king of the PDC World Darts Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

On top of 14 titles, an achievement that will probably never be equalled or topped, Taylor boasts the record for the longest unbeaten streak in the tournament’s history (44 matches).<\/span><\/p>\n

Amazingly, The Power did not lose a game between his defeats in the 1994 and 2003 finals. To say that is absurd is something of an understatement!<\/span><\/p>\n
