The final day of Cheltenham 2025 kicks off with the Triumph Hurdle, a race for first-season novice hurdlers who have climbed to the top and have aspirations of big success in their careers. With strong Irish dominance in the race over the past few years, we think this prize will go back across the Irish Sea again with Hello Neighbour. Gavin Cromwell\u2019s charge has been impressive in his two runs to date and can ward of the challenge from East India Dock and Lulamba. At tasty odds, Gibbs Island could be a live contender. He has also won both of his races, including hacking up at Haydock last time out.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the last handicaps of the week, this race has thrown up big-price winners over the past two decades, leading it to be one of the bookies\u2019 favourite races of the entire meeting. When push comes to shove, we have two horses that we think can run very well in this tricky contest. Our main selection is McLaurey, trained by Emmet Mullins. He is a worthy favourite here, coming into this race off the back of winning his last two races, including a valuable prize at Leopardstown. He could be hard to beat as he is showing no signs of slowing his improvement down. At a huge price, we think Cracking Rhapsody could upset the applecart. He won handsomely at Kelso last time and is the sort of tough and genuine horse you want in a race of this nature.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.40pm – Mares\u2019 Chase (Grade 2) – 2m4f<\/b><\/h2>\n

This race is another new addition to the Festival card and looks to be a contest that the Irish hold all the trump cards in. With that all said, we think it could be a day for favourite backers and Willie Mullins\u2019 Dinoblue is strongly fancied to come out on top in this. She has been ultra-consistent in her career so far and beat stablemate Allegorie De Vassy last time out. She also was a narrow runner-up in this heat last year and can go one better. At longer odds, UK challenger Telepathique can run a big race. She is in great heart at present, winning four of her five races this term and a return to a left-handed track will see her in even better light.<\/span><\/p>\n

3.20pm – Albert Bartlett Novices\u2019 Hurdle (Grade 1) – 3m<\/b><\/h2>\n

A gruelling race for long-distance novices, this Grade 1 contest can spring up the odd bigger-price winner. However, we think this will go the way of the hot favourite, The Big Westerner. He absolutely cruised home at Limerick last time out and will definitely stay the distance to secure the prize for Henry de Bromhead. For each-way value, the unbeaten Derryhassen Paddy may run a big one. He is improving at a rate of knots and showed great fortitude to win at Windsor last time out. The distance won\u2019t be an issue and he could shock the main protagonists.<\/span><\/p>\n

4pm \u2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase (Grade 1) – 3m2f<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Blue Riband might be a bit boring, so just sit back and enjoy Galopin des Champs winning yet another Gold Cup. He is nigh on unbeatable round this course and won the last two Gold Cups with ease – and could join the pantheon of legends with three wins in a row, such as Best Mate and Arkle. The big question for us is, what horse can chase him home? We think that Corbetts Cross holds strong claims for a place. He acts well round Cheltenham, stays marathon distances and is in decent enough form. When others have cried enough, he will be running on.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.40pm – Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters\u2019 Chase \u2013 3m2f<\/b><\/h2>\n

Dubbed the \u201cGold Cup for Hunter Chasers\u201d, this race falls swiftly after the main event and there has been no shortage of drama in this contest over the past 50 years. Last year\u2019s winner, Sine Nomine, hasn\u2019t kicked on from his success but we believe the favourite, Its On The Line, could be a good thing. He looked most progressive before losing to Ryehill at Naas last time out but his trainer, Emmet Mullins, is a master at these events and he can bounce back in style. The aforementioned Ryehill could be the one to chase him home. He turned over our selection at odds-on in the Naas race but our pick could be tuned in to take revenge.<\/span><\/p>\n

The final race of the 2025 meeting is another absolute puzzler for punters to pick a winner from. With another maximum field expected to line-up, there are no shortage of runners from Britain and Ireland who want to bring the curtain down on this year\u2019s Festival. With a shorter price and bigger price in mind, we think two to side with are Wodhooh and Minella Sixo. Wodhooh remains unbeaten after a stellar start to his career and is primed for a big run here. His last run was his most impressive, winning over course and distance in December and he has been targeted for this race. Gordon Elliott\u2019s Minella Sixo could be the each-way value. He is super consistent and fell last time when running well. He could run a good race at nice odds.<\/span><\/p>\n
