The tennis world was shocked when odds-on favourite Jannik Sinner was eliminated from the French Open<\/a> in just the second round by Juan Manuel Cerundolo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Italian superstar – who is ranked No1 in the world – was beaten 6-3 6-2 5-7 1-6 1-6 after leading 5-1 in the third set.<\/span><\/p>\n

In sporting spirit, Sinner was eager to not blame his performance vs Cerundolo solely on the hot conditions in Paris.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, the World No1 simply bemoaned a lack of energy, which he believes is sometimes normal for such high-performing athletes in a fiercely-competitive sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I had no energy today. That can happen. Nobody is a robot,” Sinner honestly admitted after the shock defeat.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I woke up this morning, didn’t feel very well and tried to keep points very short.<\/span><\/p>\n

“In the beginning I was hitting very clean, very good, and then I just hit a wall.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I started feeling dizzy. Very low on energy. I tried to serve it out but I didn’t have a lot of energy.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It was warm, but not crazy warm. I feel like it was quite OK to play.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It was nothing against the heat, nothing against the weather. It was just me today, but it happens.”<\/span><\/p>\n
