Spain\u2019s strength in the goalkeeper department means Chelsea No1 Sanchez has not been called up by Luis de la Fuente. Unai Simon, David Raya and Joan Garcia instead make up a formidable shot-stopping trio, which represents arguably the best goalkeeping contingent heading to the World Cup.<\/span><\/p>\n

Senesi was a standout performer in the 2025-26 Premier League, playing a key role in Bournemouth\u2019s Europa League qualification. Senesi also contributed five assists in the English top-flight season, but Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni has instead kept faith in 38-year-old warhorse Nicolas Otamendi. LB – Alvaro Carreras (Spain)<\/b><\/h2>\n

At the start of 2025-26, Carreras looked a shoe-in for the Spain squad, with many believing he could challenge Marc Cucurella for the starting spot. However, the Real Madrid defender\u2019s form fell away somewhat, and he now faces a battle to win his manager\u2019s favour – at both club and international level!<\/span><\/p>\n

CM – Eduardo Camavinga (France)<\/b><\/h2>\n

He scored 10 goals and registered six assists for Borussia Dortmund across all competitions in 2025-26, and his pace is a weapon which any manager would love. Pedro\u2019s absence from Brazil\u2019s World Cup squad is incredibly hard to explain.
