He was an integral part of Brazil\u2019s World Cup winning team in 2002, mostly remembered for his 40-yard free kick against England, which knocked them out of the tournament in the quarter finals. He became the best player in the world at Barcelona and won FIFA\u2019s World Player of the Year award back-to-back, in 2005 and 2006.<\/p>\n

        Despite being born with a deformed spine, one leg shorter than the other and both legs bowed, Garrincha wowed Brazilian fans like few others in the nation\u2019s history. He\u2019s a two-time World Cup winner, back in 1958 and 1962, with the second tournament showcasing the best of his talent. He won the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot in Chile in 1962. He lost just once in a Brazil jersey, with that defeat coming in his 50th<\/sup> and final international appearance.<\/p>\n
